The Williamsville Sports Boosters have been a key organization in the success of the WCUSD 15 Athletic Department by providing a large number of resources to both our coaches and athletes to help them succeed in their respective sports; so far this school year, the booster club has given back over $65,000 to both high school and junior high sports. This brings the total to over $316,000 given back to the athletic department over the last six years! You can continue to help this organization in their support of both Bee Bee and Bullet Athletics by attending the dueling pianos at Boondocks Pub in Springfield. The event will take place on Saturday, March 30 with dinner starting at 6:30 pm and the show at 7:30 pm
Congratulations to our Illinois YMCA Youth & Government students who had a fantastic weekend at the 70th Assembly! Julia Kienzler served as committee chair, Bill Spaniol served as Chaplain of the House and received the honor of giving the opening and closing session prayers, Ashley Koontz served as Assistant Director of Lobbyists, and Ross Bodine served as Sergeant-at-Arms of the House. In addition, Ross received 2nd place for his Forum Proposal. Several of our legislators also saw the successful passage of their bills. Thanks to all our delegates for representing Williamsville High School so wonderfully!

Check the guidance webpage for the Sangamon County Farm Bureau Foundation scholarship program--the scholarships are open to graduating seniors of Sangamon County Farm Bureau members. The Foundation is offering five $1,250.00 scholarships for the fall 2019.
The WHS Vocal Music Boosters Scholarship is now available to all WHS seniors that participated in Madrigals, Vocal Jazz, or Choir during their high school years. The scholarship is for $500 and will be rewarded to a graduating senior who plans to continue to be involved in vocal music in college. Students must complete an application (available in the Guidance Department) and complete a 500 word essay. The deadline to submit your application is April 30, 2019.

WILLIAMSVILLE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION – QUARTER AUCTIONS
The Williamsville Community Foundation is looking for volunteers to assist with their Quarter Auctions to benefit different charities. They need help on the second Thursday of every month from 5:30-8:30 p.m. to work concessions during the auctions and on the Wednesday before the auctions from 5:00-6:00 p.m. to set up chairs and tables. The Quarter Auctions will take place at the Williamsville Community Center.
LINCOLN LAND DOWN SYNDROME SOCIETY – CHILD CARE AT MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS
Volunteers are being sought by the Lincoln Land Down Syndrome Society to assist with childcare during membership meetings. Upcoming meeting dates are Thursday, April 18, 2019; Thursday, June 13, 2019; and Thursday, July 11, 2019. Meetings are held at Erin’s Pavilion at Edwin Watts Southwind Park. Volunteers would need to arrive by 5:45 p.m. and stay until approximately 7:30 p.m. Four volunteers are needed for each meeting.
ABRAHAM LINCOLN PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY AND MUSEUM – HISTORY DETECTIVE
The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield is looking for volunteers to assist as a History Detective. Volunteers will be needed to facilitate a children’s scavenger hunt in the museum during Winter Break in December and Summer Break in June and July. Volunteers will need to work a four-hour shift, either from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., on any day of their choice during those timeframes.
Williamsville’s Healthy Kids’ Running Series is looking for volunteers leading stretches, directing runners along the courses, helping keep kids in order at the finish line, etc. The races take place at the Williamsville Park on Sunday afternoons April 7, 14, 28, and May 5. Volunteers would need to be at the park from about 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
WILLIAMSVILLE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION — WILLIAMSVILLE EASTER EGG HUNT
The Williamsville Community Foundation is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt at the Williamsville Park on Saturday, April 13, 2019, from TBD to TBD. They are looking for volunteers to help with refreshments, to organize the kids for the egg hunt, and to pass out toys on the day of the event, and they also need volunteers on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. to stuff the eggs and do other work in preparation for the event.
SHERMAN AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE — SHERMAN EASTER EGG HUNT
The Sherman Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Sherman Easter Egg Hunt at Sherman Elementary School on Saturday, April 20, 2019, from 9:00-11:30 a.m. They are looking for volunteers to help set up, supervise the organized activities, and clean up after the event.
