Nursing Schools Almanac has just launched its second annual Aspiring Nurse Scholarshipto award a $1,000 scholarship to an aspiring nurse who best demonstrates: A track record of academic excellence, particularly in science and mathematics and passion for the nursing profession and the overall field of healthcare. This scholarship is open to all high school seniors who plan to pursue college education in nursing, including LPN / LVN, ADN, and BSN programs. The Golden Apple Scholars Program recruits the students interested in teaching and education. This program is dedicated to guiding future inner-city teachers. This program is looking for diverse and talented students to teach in primary and secondary public schools within Chicago. High school students get preference for this program. The Center for Rural Health administers a number of scholarship programs for students in the health professions (physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, certified nurse midwives, all nursing degrees). The Rural Illinois Medical Student program helps many qualified applicants to hurdle financial needs or borderline academic barriers to a medical education. This program has assisted over 800 students with a recommendation and/or loans to the University of Illinois. This program is designed to provide doctors in rural communities in Illinois. there is also a Nurse Practitioner Schoalrship Application. Illinois Special Education Teacher Tuition Waiver (SETTW) Program If you are a teacher or an academically talented student pursuing a career in special education as a public, private or parochial preschool, elementary or secondary school teacher in Illinois, you may be eligible for the Illinois Special Education Teacher Tuition Waiver Program.
