Midwest Technical Institute has numerous scholarships available for applicants. Students who are interested in the Journeyman Welding, Medical Assisting, Dental Assisting, HVACR, and Pharmacy Technician programs are eligiable to apply. Lincoln Land Community College Foundation Scholarship applications are available. The online application is available by going to http://www.llccfoundation.org/scholarships. Students will be considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible. The application can also be used to apply to the LLCC Honors Program and for consideration for the LLCC Trustees Honors Program Scholarship. Deadline to apply is March 1st

 

Eastern Illinois University 

IFT’s Carl J. Megel Special Education Scholarship – applications due March 3rd  High School Seniors applying for this scholarship must be enrolled in a special education school, class, or program for students with autism, cognitive disability, deaf-blindness, deafness, emotional disability, hearing impairment, multiple disabilities, orthopedic impairment, other health impairment, specific learning disability, speech or language impairment, traumatic brain injury, or visual impairment.

 

AFT’s Robert G. Porter Scholars Program – applications due March 31st  This program offers four 4-year, $8,000 post-secondary scholarships to high school seniors who are dependents of AFT members.

 

The Eugene McDermott Scholars Program at The University of Texas at Dallas is one of the nation’s most generous and selective undergraduate merit awards. Valued at more than $250,000 (out of state), the scholarship includes tuition, stipend, study abroad and professional development funding. The Army ROTC National High School Scholarship Program  is now open to senior scholar/athletes. Criteria for applicants includes: GPA, ACT, time played and team positions, Presidential Fitness Test, extra curricular involvement , and volunteering. Applicants can list up to seven universities in which the scholarship could be applied. No commitment to the Army is necessary to apply. First Round Applicants Considered Oct 7th 

SCAD Challenge: Junior and senior students can put their artistic vision on display for the opportunity to earn a scholarship to SCAD, the university for creative careers. Challenges are open to current juniors and seniors in high school as of the 2016–17 academic year. Entries must demonstrate creativity, innovation and a strong understanding of aesthetics. A panel of SCAD faculty will review and evaluate submitted entries, and three winners will be selected from each category. Register by Dec 15th. The Helen and June Hamilton Teacher’s Scholarship Fund offers student loans to those who are pursuing undergraduate and graduate teaching programs.  Loans will be renewable each year and forgiven for those who become full time elementary or secondary teachers and continue to teach for two years. William E McElroy Scholarship is open to senior males who plan to major in premedical, medical research, or related fields (such as nursing and dentistry). College Success Scholarship by Study.com is offered to senior applicants. Applicants will be required to submit a "free response" that is judged on Originality, Creativity, Writing Skills, Inspiration. Additionally, the Sponsor-designated judges may consider Social Engagement (sharing and interacting through social media or other outlets). The WHS Sports Boosters Outstanding Sportsmanship Scholarship is now open to senior athletes, cheerleaders, and student managers.  Applicants must have a letter of recommendation from his or her coach.  One award will be given to senior male athlete and one senior girl athlete worth $500. Award is not based on athletic ability. Applications are in the file(s) to download section and must be submitted by April 7th

The IL Heartland Decorative Artists has established two scholarships for talented art students who plan to attend an accredited art program in the Fall of 2017. Please visit http://www.ihda.us/education.html  The deadline is April 10th 

Plato and Flora McCourtney Foundation scholarships are awarded to Sangamon County graduates seeking technical and scientific education.  Applicants must write a one-page essay on education or career goals and have at least a 3.0 GPA.  The scholarship is renewable for up to four years. Pick up an application in the guidance office and complete it by April 15th. 

 

The Williamsville Education Association (WEA) Scholarship is open to all WHS seniors.  Students must write an essay about the opportunities and experiences they have had at WHS that will benefit them in the future. Applications are in the file(s) to download section and must be submitted by April 14th

 

Williamsville Junior Football Association provides scholarships to those who have participated in the WJFL and graduate from WHS. Applicants must have good character, good citizenship, and demonstrate need for financial assistance. Find an application above in the file(s) to download section. Due April 17th

American Legion Legacy Scholarship is open to high school seniors or graduates who are the children of Armed Service members who were federalized and died in active duty on or after September 11, 2001. Association of Illinois Township Committees on Youth (AITCOY) offers a $500.00 undergraduate scholarship for a high school senior who plans on attending a four year college and majoring in social work, counseling, psychology, youth recreation, youth prevention, or sociology.  This year we will be awarding two undergraduate education scholarships.  The applicant must demonstrate an interest in serving his or her community. Springfield Noon Lions Club offers scholarship money to Sangamon County students who are entering the health care field. Current McDonald’s employees are encouraged to apply for a McDonald’s CREW Scholarship offered to workers at several local restaurants, including Williamsville.  In order to apply, employees must have worked for 6 months prior to August 1st 2017. Nursing Schools Almanac has just launched its second annual Aspiring Nurse Scholarshipto award a $1,000 scholarship to an aspiring nurse who best demonstrates: A track record of academic excellence, particularly in science and mathematics and passion for the nursing profession and the overall field of healthcare. This scholarship is open to all high school seniors who plan to pursue college education in nursing, including LPN / LVN, ADN, and BSN programs. The Golden Apple Scholars Program recruits the students interested in teaching and education. This program is dedicated to guiding future inner-city teachers. Vocal Music Boosters will again offer a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior who was involved in vocal music during their high school career and who intends to engage in some type of vocal music activity during college. The Davey Scholarship awards scholarships/loans at a 5% interest rate to residents of Christian, Morgan, and Sangamon Counties ages 16-25 only. Minority High School Scholars Actuarial Academy: This program is (through the Actuarial Science Department at ISU) specifically designed for academically talented African-American, Hispanic, and Native American high school students who excel in mathematics, enjoy learning, and like to solve complicated problems.  Benefits of entering this program include Illinois State University room and board, field trips, scholarships, and career information for students selected for this program.
