District Dispatch April 2018

Due to the lack of a State of Illinois linear school funding payment schedule over
the past several years, WCUSD#15 has been deficit spending, spending reserves,
reducing programs, and being expected to do more with less revenue, while at the
same time trying to balance responsibilities to the tax payer and create
opportunities for students and staff. For a district with cash flow problems and
the inability to borrow money, this causes financial challenges.

WCUSD#15 Parents, Families, Students, and Staff

I wanted to inform you of a school safety and security situation today at WJHS.

At 1:00 today a video was brought to our attention by a WJHS student. The video was dated in December 2017. The video recording alleged threats towards other WJHS students. The Williamsville Police were notified, and the student was removed from WCUSD #15. The Williamsville Police Department and the WCUSD#15 Administration is actively investigating the situation.

The student will not be in attendance at WJHS during the investigation.

Due to a student being involved in this manner, please understand we cannot discuss any specific details regarding this situation related to the student. Thank you for your understanding, and please know we will continue to swiftly address any issues we feel interfere with the potential safety or well-being of the students and staff at WCUSD#15.

With the climate we live in, we will continue to have heightened awareness to school safety and security for WCUSD#15. We will continue to act with the mindset erring on the side of caution when it comes to students’ and staffs’ safety.
