Solar Eclipse Parent Letter

On Monday, August 21, 2017, a total eclipse will cross the entire country, coast-to-coast, for the first time since 1918. Weather permitting; the entire continent will have the opportunity to view an eclipse as the moon passes in front of the sun, casting a shadow on Earth’s surface. (www.nasa.gov). WCUSD #15 students will be learning about the eclipse during the first days of school and all students and staff will go outside to watch the eclipse during the afternoon of August 21st .

A Donation to the Dave Root Memorial Fund

boostercheckpresentation
The Williamsville Sports Boosters presented a $10,449 check to Superintendent Don Beard at the varsity basketball game
Friday night as a donation to the Dave Root Memorial Fund. The sports boosters sold T-shirts and sweatshirts in honor of Superintendent Root this past year.  The Sherman and Williamsville communities were very supportive and, due to their generosity, this gracious donation was able to be made to the fund.  Superintendent Root was a huge proponent of the Sports Boosters and supported all of their efforts. How the money will be used has yet to be determined. From left in the photo:  Sports Boosters President Michelle Buscher, booster member Dana Davis, Boosters Vice President Debbie Price and Superintendent Don Beard.
