Welcome Back To A New 2018-2019 School Year


Welcome back Bullets and Bee Bee’s! I hope you enjoyed a summer vacation or time off
filled with fun and exciting memories with your family, friends, and loved ones. Each
school year starts a new chapter and new choices in everyone’s lives. Everyone has the
opportunity for a fresh new start, to make a change, challenge themselves, and set new
personal goals. Everyone is undefeated!

The excitement of another school year is in the air and everyone is anxiously awaiting the
sights and sounds of all the activities and experiences in store for our students.

Trust and Transparency

One of the most important aspects of my job as your Superintendent is to build trust and
transparency with the local communities. During my first year as WCUSD#15
Superintendent, I worked collectively with the Board of Education and the communities
in being transparent with district finances and building trust with community
relationships.

PURPOSE OF THE DISTRICT VISION COMMITTEE

  1. Create a bridge between the community and the district
  2. Educate and communicate the state of the district
  3. Seek input regarding facilities needs, wants, and wishes
  4. Seek input regarding long term financial needs, wants, and wishes
  5. Provide input to the Board of Education for developing long range financial and facilities plans and goals.

Another school year is nearing completion and the challenging road to graduation for the
class of 2018 has arrived. The journey for these students has been filled with great
accomplishments and successes inside and outside the classroom.

REGARDLESS OF FUNDING IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY AT WCUSD#15
Due to the lack of a State of Illinois linear school funding payment schedule over
the past several years, WCUSD#15 has been deficit spending, spending reserves,
reducing programs, and being expected to do more with less revenue, while at the
same time trying to balance responsibilities to the tax payer and create
opportunities for students and staff. For a district with cash flow problems and
the inability to borrow money, this causes financial challenges.
