Another Great School Year & Best Wishes Class of 2022

Another school year is nearing completion and the end of the challenging road to graduation for the class of 2022 has arrived. The journey for these students has been filled with great accomplishments and successes inside and outside the classroom. Our graduating class has represented our school district with class on all levels and it has been a privilege to be part of their educational experience at Williamsville Schools. The time has come for them to take the skills and qualities attained through their schooling experiences and impact our world in a positive manner. It is not a time to say goodbye to our graduates, but welcome them to a world of opportunity in which they are prepared to succeed.

WJHS & WHS Traffic Flow: Due to construction, we are asking all community members, parents, and students to use the Williamsville overpass road to enter and exit WJHS & WHS. Our school buses will have priority for student drop-offs and pick-ups in front of WJHS & WHS circle drives. There will be no student morning drop offs or after school student pick up for parents in the WJHS or WHS circle drive. The WJHS & WHS principals will be communicating specific traffic flow plans to parents and students.

We are exited about another school year. Thank you for being partners in your child's education and extracurricular activities.

Time to Celebrate & Best Wishes Class of 2021

May 3-7 was Teacher Appreciation Week. May 6 was Nurse Appreciation Day, and May 7 was Cafeteria Cooks appreciation day. On behalf of the WCUSD#15 Board of Education, I would like to personally thank all the WCUSD#15 staff for what they do every day for our students. The WCUSD#15 staff is the most important variables in the district, and our staff unselfishly meet this challenge daily.

As challenging as it was, it is time to celebrate the academic success of another great school year at WCUSD#15. We have great schools with many opportunities for students. We have successfully navigated the challenges of COVID-19. Our teachers and staff do a wonderful job instructing, caring, and challenging our students.

IT'S A GREAT DAY TO BE A BULLET AND A BEE BEE!

APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY FLOWERS & END OF THE YEAR SCHOOL INFORMATION

April and May are the months when the county clerk & township assessors finalize the taxing body’s levy extensions, mail out the property tax bills to the local tax payers, and send the final levy tax extension reports to school districts. Springtime is when the county clerk finalizes each taxing body’s tax rates. From these tax rate calculations, there are several tax extension/rate variables that are out of the school district’s and other taxing body’s control. Taxing bodies have no control over final township property assessments, property re-evaluation, township multipliers, Consumer Price Index (CPI), property tax appeals, and property tax exemptions. Increases or decreases in all of these uncontrollable variables affect a taxing body’s final tax rate which affects each individual property tax payer.

WCUSD#15 Parents, Families, & Students

I apologize for the short notice, but I have been able to finalize and evaluate our local data this afternoon. I appreciate all the community support, input, feedback, and recommendation emails. This decision is based on staff input, administrative feedback, staffing concerns with lack of substitutes, local Williamsville & Sherman COVID-19 data, Sangamon County COVID-19 data, and current increases in COVID-19 positive cases within the district, Sangamon County, and the State of Illinois.

Today, we have been notified of 21 positive COVID-19 cases connected to WCUSD#15. (16 students and 5 staff)

I wanted to inform you we will be switching to Full Remote Learning December 1-18. https://youtu.be/O35uDUtscbw

  • Sangamon County COVID-19 and area numbers continue to increase
  • Availability of local hospital beds are decreasing
  • Local District COVID-19 positives, quarantines, and exposures are increasing
  • We simply do not have the staff or available substitutes for in-person learning

Our building campuses will be open for teachers to invite/schedule small groups of students for instruction.

SES Pre-K and Structured students will still attend 5 days per week.

Students in grades 5-12 will be expected to follow their bell schedule, be online during required times, and daily engaged remotely.

Please contact your child's building principal or teacher with additional questions or information.

We all prefer and understand the importance of in-person learning, unfortunately we can't accomplish this. During this challenging time, Full Remote Learning is our best academic option for our students and staff.

Return To In-Person Learning Hybrid AA/BB December 1 through December 18

At this time, we are planning on returning to in-person learning by using the Hybrid In-Person Learning Plan. This is all predicated to evaluation of the local area, district, and Sangamon County COVID-19 data. Staff, parents, families, and students need to be prepared to pivot and switch to Full Remote Learning at any time.

For additional details, please watch the video link and informational attachment below.
