As long as the schools are closed in Williamsville-Sherman School District, we will be offering a free sack lunch to all of the students who are currently qualified to receive free- or reduced-priced lunches.
These lunches will be available for pickup at Sherman Elementary School between 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays. Our plan is for cars to pull up to the school gym door, and the lunches will be handed through the car window. At that time, we will ask for the student name(s) who will be receiving a sack lunch in order to check them off of our list.
Monday’s afternoon pickup will include 3 sack lunches (for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Thursday’s pickup will have 2 sack lunches for Friday and Monday.
Every lunch will include: a sandwich, fresh or canned fruit, fresh vegetables, baked chips or packaged snack, and a milk carton. The sandwiches will rotate every day for the 5-day period: turkey/cheese sandwich, grilled cheese sandwich*, mini cheeseburgers (2-pack)*, ham/cheese sandwich, and a stuffed pepperoni (turkey) sandwich*. Items listed with an asterisk (*) will need to be heated by microwave or in an oven.
Please note: For food safety all sack lunches must be refrigerated until eaten.
If your reply is YES, that you will be picking up lunches, please also send the name and current grade of each student.
These sack lunches will be distributed beginning this Thursday afternoon, March 19.
Please don’t hesitate to also reply to this email if you have questions or if your child needs a modified lunch due to food allergy or intolerance.
