This past June, Sherman Elementary invited all students to read throughout their summer vacation. In return for their reading, there would be a drawing when the students returned to school this fall. Students had to read or be read to for a minimum of 750 minutes during their summer break. They were required to record what they read with parent's signature provided. The reading logs were returned and then students had their names entered into a drawing to give away three Nooks and six Barnes and Noble gift cards. With an excellent turnout from the students, the winners of the Nooks were Claire Larkin, Maya Holsopple and Joshua Branson. The Barnes and Noble gift cards went to Mason Fleck, Sophie Zinn, Isaac Jackson, Cory Walbert, Nic Birky and Michael Camille. All students who participated will receive a certificate of participation. Congratulations and thank you to all of the students that took the time to read!
