General Announcements:


Face Coverings: Face coverings will be required for all students, staff and visitors inside the school buildings and on school busses at all times.  Masks must cover the nose & the mouth.


The WHS Class of 2021 Graduation Commencement Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 29 at 4:00 pm at the Sherman Amphitheater.  Public seating will start at 3:00 pm.  Patrons are reminded to bring a lawn chair.  Families may sit together but are encouraged to social distance from others as much as possible.  

The rain date (in case of inclement weather) is set for Sunday, May 30 at 4:00 at the Sherman Amphitheater.  

Updates will be emailed to seniors and parents via Teacher Ease and will be posted on the WHS website.

Job Opportunity – Illinois State Fair - We are looking for 20 students/adults to work during the 2021 Illinois State Fair, at the Illinois Dairy Building, which is open daily 8am-8pm to serve ice cream and cream puffs. The dates are August 12 thru August 22. Teens need to be at least 14. The pay is $11 per hour and workers will be provided a hat and shirt to wear while working. It’s a fun first time job for students and a great way for adults to make some extra money. Please reply by June 1st if you are interested. Volunteer Opportunities:


If any student is interested in signing up for any of the community service activities below or any new ones as they come out and are not yet a member of the National Honor Society, please sign-up for the "Students Interested in NHS and Community Service - 2020-2021" Google Classroom using the Class Code "ofjll27".  Once you join the Google Classroom, there will be a Google Form to complete to sign-up this year.


Williamsville C.U.S.D. #15 – Food Service Assistance - The Williamsville C.U.S.D. #15 is looking for volunteers each Monday to assist with their food service.  Volunteers will be needed from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Sherman Elementary School.  Volunteers will be able to sign-up to help in 1-hour increments, and they may sign-up for multiple 1-hour increments for each Monday.  Volunteers will be helping bag meals for distribution to students.  Since the volunteers will be working with food production, all hair needs to be restrained. If possible, long hair should be tied back, and everyone MUST wear a hat.  NO STUDENT SHOULD BE MISSING ANY REQUIRED ATTENDANCE FOR THEIR CLASSES, EITHER IN PERSON OR ONLINE, TO COMPLETE THIS COMMUNITY SERVICE. 


Williamsville’s Healthy Kids’ Running Series - The Williamsville Healthy Kids Running Series is looking for volunteers to assist with their races for leading stretches, directing runners along the courses, helping keep kids in order at the finish line, etc. on Sundays at the Williamsville Park this spring.  Volunteers will be needed on Sunday afternoons on April 18, April 25, May 2, May 9, and May 23 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.


Williamsville Garden Club - Mulching 3

The Williamsville Garden Club is looking for volunteers to assist with spreading mulch on the community flower beds and displays.  Volunteers will be needed on Thursday, May 13, 2021, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  Volunteers will meet outside on the Williamsville Boulevard.


Williamsville High School - Ushers for Graduation

The administration of Williamsville High School is looking for volunteers to be ushers at the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2021.  The ceremony will take place at the Sherman Amphitheater, and volunteers will be needed on Saturday, May 29, 2021, from 2:45 to 4:00 p.m. to help pass out programs and will receive 1.5 hours of community service.  Should there be inclement weather on Saturday, May 29, the rain dates for the events are on Sunday, May 30, 2021, and Monday, May 31, 2021, at the same times.


Williamsville Community Foundation - Quarter Auctions - Fall 2021

The Williamsville Community Foundation is looking for volunteers to assist with their Quarter Auctions to benefit different charities.  They need help on the second Thursday of every month from 5:30-8:30 p.m. to work concessions during the auctions and on the Wednesdays before the auctions from 5:00-6:00 p.m. to set up chairs and tables.  The Fall 2021 dates for quarter auctions set up will be September 8, October 13, November 10, and December 8.  The Fall 2021 dates for the quarter auction concessions will be September 9, October 14, November 11, and December 9.  The Quarter Auctions will take place at the Williamsville Community Center.  


Williamsville Community Foundation - Fall Festival

The Williamsville Community Foundation is sponsoring the Williamsville Fall Festival on Saturday, September 11, 2021.  They are looking for volunteers to help set up tents and unload vendors from approximately 7:00-9:00 a.m. and to taking down the tents and helping clean up from 4:30-6:00 p.m.


Central Illinois Foodbank - Packing Boxes - The Central Illinois Foodbank is looking for volunteers to assist with packing boxes to be given away during their giveaways.  Volunteers will be needed on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.  The Central Illinois Foodbank is located at 1937 E. Cook St, Springfield, IL.  New volunteers will need to complete the Central Illinois Foodbank Volunteer Application that requires a parent's signature, and volunteers are also reminded that no open-toed shoes should be worn.


WHS Guidelines for Spectators at 20-21 Athletic Events:


In accordance with IDPH, IHSA, and IESA guidelines, the WCUSD #15 Athletic Department has developed the following guidelines for all home events that will occur during redb20210521ing 20-21 school year. It is our goal to hold all scheduled contests for our student-athletes. In order for this to occur, we need the full cooperation of visiting schools, spectators, athletes, coaches, and officials with the requirements that are listed below. Please understand that requirements to conduct athletic events may change and we may be required to change our procedures for hosting events. If there are any changes to these procedures, we will communicate them as quickly as possible.
