Teens For Jeans Drive

When: February 24th-28th

Where: In your 4th hour class

Who:   SAVE Club will donate all jeans collected to organizations that provide clothes to those in need in Springfield and the surrounding areas.

Why:   It will declutter your closets and make you feel good giving to someone in need.

Prize:   A pizza party will be given to the 4th hour class that gives the most pairs of jeans per student. 

 

Friday, February 28: 

 

Lunch: Beef stroganoff or Cheese pizza pie, sweetened sliced carrots, fresh fruit, vanilla goldfish cookies, choice of milk

 

Youth and Government State Assembly

 

Bass fishing tryouts, tomorrow morning (Saturday, February 28, 2020) at 9:00 am at Williamsville High School. You will meet at the front doors of the high school. If you have not already turned in your physical, insurance waiver, and IHSA concussion and PES acknowledgement, they need to be brought to tryouts, or your will not be allowed to participate.

Vocal Music Boosters Meeting: Monday, March 2nd at 6:30pm in the WHS Teachers’ Lounge.  All JH and HS choir parents are encouraged to attend.

Lunch:  Crispitos or Shredded chicken burrito, string cheese, buttered corn, Mexican beans with tortilla chips, diced pears, choice of milk

7:30 AM – Cafeteria - Football Players:  If you ordered a championship ring, please meet Jostens in the cafeteria on Tuesday morning.  Payment must be made in full to pick up your ring.

Congratulations Corey Beaver – February Student of the Month!

The Springfield Park District is looking for lifeguards for students looking for summer employment. 

 

Seniors:  Jostens will be here on March 31st to pass out your cap & gown orders during lunch.

 

Sophomore Class Officers:  Jostens will be here on March 31st to meet with you at 10:30am.  Please meet in the office.

 

There are also some families in the district who may be seeking summer babysitters. Please let Mrs. Chladny know if you would be interested (families are looking for students who can drive).

WILLIAMSVILLE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION – QUARTER AUCTIONS

The Williamsville Community Foundation is looking for volunteers to assist with their Quarter Auctions to benefit different charities.  They need help on the second Thursday of every month from 5:15-8:15 p.m. to work concessions during the auctions and on the Wednesday before the auctions from 5:00-6:00 p.m. to set up chairs and tables.  The Quarter Auctions will take place at the Williamsville Community Center. 

 

ANIMAL PROTECTIVE LEAGUE - APL is always looking for volunteers. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Volunteer opportunities include: dog walking, cleaning, dog & cat socialization, office work, adoption events and much more!   Sign up by emailing volunteer@apl-shelter.org or by calling Mary at 544-7387 x227. New volunteers must attend a "new volunteer orientation." 

 

CAPITOL RADIO GROUP — EASTER EGGSTRAVAGANZA AT KNIGHTS ACTION PARK - The Capitol Radio Group is hosting their Easter Eggstravaganza at Knights Action Park.  They need volunteers on to stuff the eggs and do other work in preparation for the event, and the stuffing of the Easter eggs will take place at their offices of the Capitol Radio Group, 3501 E. Sangamon Ave., Springfield, IL. 

 

BRUNO EVENT TEAM — LINCOLN LAND CHAMPIONSHIP AT PANTHER CREEK COUNTRY CLUB - The Bruno Event Team is managing the Lincoln Land Championship at Panther Creek Country Club.  They are looking for junior volunteers from local high schools to help with the tournament July 13-19, 2020. 

 

WILLIAMSVILLE’S HEALTHY KIDS’ RUNNING SERIES - Williamsville’s Healthy Kids’ Running Series is looking for volunteers leading stretches, directing runners along the courses, helping keep kids in order at the finish line, etc.  The races take place at the Williamsville Park on Sunday afternoons March 29, April 5, April 19, April 26, and May 3, 2020.  Volunteers would need to be at the park from about 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. 

 

WILLIAMSVILLE C.U.S.D. #15 — DISTRICT REFERENDUM -Williamsville C.U.S.D. #15 is looking for volunteers to help canvassing the neighborhoods of Williamsville and Sherman to help promote the referendum and to pass out information for the referendum at entrances and ticket tables for various upcoming district activities.  The volunteers for the canvassing of neighborhoods will be needed from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for the following Saturdays:  February 29, March 7, and March 14.  The district activities that volunteers will be needed at entrances and ticket tables include: WJHS Band Concert, Tuesday, March 3, at the District Fine Arts Center from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m.; and the SES 1st Grade Concert, Thursday, March 5, at the District Fine Arts Center from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m.
