Parent Teacher Conferences are taking place
November 8 and 9. On November 8, students will be dismissed from school
at 11:30. Conferences take place from 12:30–3:30pm, 4:00-8:00 pm.
On November 9, there will be no student attendance. Conferences take
place from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. Sign-ups

Juniors - Do you want to have an awesome after-prom this year? Sell those calendar lotto tickets that were handed out a few weeks ago! The more you sell, the better prizes and activities we will be able to obtain. See Mrs. Dame to turn in money, stubs, and UNSOLD tickets. She will also have extra tickets should you need more. Everything is due NEXT FRIDAY, Oct. 19th.

End of 1st Quarter – October 19, 2018. Report cards will be issued to students in English classes on October 31st.
If you are interested in trying out for Basketball/Competitive Cheer for
the 2018-19 school year, try-outs will be
held on Tuesday Oct 23 from 4-5:30pm with a mandatory open gym from 3:30-5pm
Monday Oct 22, both will be held in the back gym. If you have any
questions or need the paperwork for try-outs please see Coach Manley. You
must have a current physical on file to tryout.

ILLINOIS
PRINCIPALS ASSOCIATION – 5K AT THE FALL CONFERENCE
The Illinois Principals Association is looking for volunteers to assist
with their 5K race at their Fall Conference. The run/walk will take place
at Washington Park on Sunday, October 21, 2018, and volunteers would be needed
from 9:15 a.m. until 12:15 p.m.
WILLIAMSVILLE
COMMUNITY FOUNDATION – QUARTER AUCTIONS
The Williamsville Community Foundation is looking
for volunteers to assist with their Quarter Auctions to benefit different
charities. They need help on the second Thursday of every month from
5:30-8:30 p.m. to work concessions during the auctions and on the Wednesday
before the auctions from 5:00-6:00 p.m. to set up chairs and tables. The
Quarter Auctions will take place at the Williamsville Community Center.
LINCOLN
HOME NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE — CANDLELIGHT AT THE NEW SALEM STATE PARK
The Lincoln Home National Historic Site needs
volunteers to help prepare for their popular event known as Candlelight at the
New Salem State Park. Volunteers will need to work from 9:00 a.m. to
12:00 p.m. (noon) and will be cleaning lanterns, placing candles inside
lanterns, picking up trash in the campground and alongside Route 97, and
collecting fallen branches and raking leaves inside the village. Items
such as trash bags and trash grabbers will be provided.
CAPITOL
RADIO GROUP—ZOOLIE GHOULIE AT HENSON ROBINSON ZOO
The Capitol Radio Group
is sponsoring Zoolie Ghoulie
at Henson Robinson Zoo from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2018, and
1:00-5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, and Sunday, October 28, 2018.
Volunteers will be passing out candy in the safe trick-or-treating event inside
the zoo gates or working in the carnival area. Volunteers are also
encouraged—but not required—to dress in costumes if they can.
ABRAHAM LINCOLN PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY AND MUSEUM –
SPOOKTACULAR EVENING WITH ABE
The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum
in Springfield is looking for volunteers to assist with their Spooktacular Evening with Abe. Volunteers will be
needed to operate family-friendly games on Saturday, October 20, 2018, from
6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
SHERMAN
HOLIDAY WONDERLAND
Volunteers are being sought to assist with the
Sherman Holiday Wonderland, which will be hosted at the Sherman Athletic Club
on Sunday, November 18, 2018. Proceeds from the Sherman Holiday
Wonderland are put toward the Sharon Miller Scholarship. Volunteers will
be needed on Sunday, November 18, 2018, helping set-up for the event from 6:30
to 7:30 a.m., helping vendors unload from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m., and working the
Welcome Table from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m.
ABRAHAM LINCOLN PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY AND MUSEUM –
FUN FROSTY FRIDAY
The Abraham Lincoln
Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield is looking for volunteers to
assist with their Fun Frosty Friday. Volunteers will be needed to operate
family-friendly games on Friday, November 23, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00
p.m.
WILLIAMSVILLE
HIGH SCHOOL — CLEAN-UP FOR BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAMES
The custodians at Williamsville High School are
looking for assistance cleaning out the bleachers after the home boys’
basketball games on Friday, November 30; Saturday, December 1; Tuesday,
December 4; Friday, December 7; Friday, December 14; Tuesday, January 15;
Tuesday, January 22; Saturday, February 2; Friday, February 8; and Friday,
February 15. They are looking for a couple of volunteers per game, and
while you will probably be needed for less than an hour, you will earn an hour
of community service.
ABRAHAM LINCOLN PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY AND MUSEUM – HISTORY
DETECTIVE
The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum
in Springfield is looking for volunteers to assist as a History
Detective. Volunteers will be needed to facilitate a children’s scavenger
hunt in the museum during Winter Break in December and Summer Break in June and
July. Volunteers will need to work a four-hour shift, either from 9:00
a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., on any day of their choice
during those timeframes.
WILLIAMSVILLE
HIGH SCHOOL — WINTER CHOIR CONCERT
The Vocal Music Boosters need volunteers at the Winter Choir Concert on
Wednesday, December 5, 2018. Volunteers will need to work from 6:30-8:30
p.m. and will be plating the cheesecake during the choir concert and serving it
immediately after the concert.
WILLIAMSVILLE’S
HEALTHY KIDS’ RUNNING SERIES
Williamsville’s Healthy Kids’ Running Series is looking for volunteers
leading stretches, directing runners along the courses, helping keep kids in
order at the finish line, etc. The races take place at the Williamsville
Park on Sunday afternoons October 14. Volunteers would need to be at the
park from about 3:15-5:45 p.m. They would also like volunteers to help
run a few “healthy activities,” like jump rope, and to hand out fliers and
stickers, etc.
WILLIAMSVILLE
PUBLIC LIBRARY AND MUSEUM — CHESS CLUB
The Williamsville Public Library and Museum is
looking for volunteers with experience playing chess to assist younger and
novice players learn the game during their Chess Club every Thursday during the
months of September and October. Volunteers can work from 3:30 to 4:30
p.m. or from 4:30-5:30 p.m. during any of the available dates.
