Williamsville Community Foundation — Quarter Auctions – For anyone needing community service hours, the Williamsville Community Foundation is looking for volunteers to assist with their Quarter Auctions to benefit different charities.  They need help on the second Wednesday of every month from 5:00-6:00 p.m. to set up chairs at the Williamsville Community Center, and then they will need help on the second Thursday of every month from 5:30-8:30 p.m. to work concessions

Lincoln Land Down Syndrome Society – Child Care at Membership Meetings - Volunteers are being sought by the Lincoln Land Down Syndrome Society to assist with child care during membership meetings.  The last meeting date is Thursday, July 12, 2018.  Meetings are held at Erin’s Pavilion at Edwin Watts Southwind Park.  Volunteers would need to arrive by 5:45 p.m. and stay until approximately 7:30 p.m.  Four volunteers are needed for each meeting.

Memorial Day - the Village of Williamsville is looking for volunteers to help put flags on the graves of veterans on Saturday, May 26, 2018.  They are looking for four volunteers.  Volunteers will meet with Mayor Tom Yokley at McDonald's at 8:00 a.m. and will be needed for about 3 hours.  Please see Mr. Martens if you are interested or have any other questions

Sherman Elementary School – Summer Bridges -  Sherman Elementary School is looking for volunteers for the summer school program, called Summer Bridges.  The program will be offered in July on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and includes the dates of July 10-12, 17-19, and 24-26.  A classroom teacher will be the facilitator, and they are seeking high school students to work in small groups with the materials the teacher provides.  The commitment would be about 2.5 hours in the morning from 8:00-11:30 a.m.  These hours would count as community service and will be considered an NHS activity for the 2018-2019 school year.  Students can commit themselves to all 9 sessions or sign-up on a day-by-day basis.

Also for students thinking about joining NHS next year, this would be a great way to earn leadership experience as well.  Students wanting the leadership experience should sign-up for a minimum of three to four of the sessions.

If you have any questions, please see Mr. Martens.  You can sign-up with Mr. Martens through the end of the school year.  After the conclusion of the school year, you will still be able to sign-up by contacting Mrs. Mundstock directly at mundstock@wcusd15.org.
