Prom Reminder - Any student that is planning on attending prom, your class dues must be paid up!  See your class sponsors if you aren't sure if you've paid.

Library Books - The last day to check out books from the library will be Friday, May 4.  All books should be returned by May 18.

 

Jostens Graduation Order Delivery - Final payment must be paid to receive cap & gown.  Credit and debit payments can be accepted at the Jostens’ office by calling 217-483-8989.  The WHS Office is able to accept cash only payments.

 

Attention to students interested in healthcare careers-check out Memorial Health System's Hands-On-Healthcare program in partnership with SIU School of Medicine. Sessions occur monthly and are designed to allow participants the opportunity to engage with current healthcare professionals in interactive settings. Interested participants should register online https://jobs.choosememorial.org/students/hands-on-healthcare/     There is no charge to attend the program, however sessions are limited to 40.

The Sangamon County Fair Queen Scholarship Pageant will take place on Tuesday June 12th. The winner will receive a $1,500 scholarship and go on to compete in the Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant in January. Caldwell Memorial Award is open to WHS seniors who show good citizenship and community involvement. Applicants should demonstrate patriotism and have an interest in arts, music, or culinary arts. Applications are available on the guidance webpage. Due May 7th

 

The Distinguished Young Women of Illinois is part of a nationwide program which awards scholarships for young women’s achievement. The program works with almost 100 colleges and universities across the country to provide opportunities for our participants to further their education. Prom Info:

 

Voting for prom court will be this Thursday in Government classes.

 

Prom tickets will go on sale this Friday, May 4 at lunch and will be sold the next week through Thursday, May 10.  The cost is $25 per person. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DANCE!!

 

In order to receive a ticket, all class dues need to be up-to-date.  See your class sponsor if you are unsure.

 

Promenade will be at 4:30 on Saturday, May 12.  Doors will open at 3:30.  Students will line up on a first come, first to line up basis.

 

Promenade forms will be at the tables where prom tickets are sold.

Volunteers Hours Available

Williamsville Community Foundation — Quarter Auctions – For anyone needing community service hours, the Williamsville Community Foundation is looking for volunteers to assist with their Quarter Auctions to benefit different charities.  They need help on the second Wednesday of every month from 5:00-6:00 p.m. to set up chairs at the Williamsville Community Center, and then they will need help on the second Thursday of every month from 5:30-8:30 p.m. to work concessions

 

Lincoln Land Down Syndrome Society – Child Care at Membership Meetings - Volunteers are being sought by the Lincoln Land Down Syndrome Society to assist with child care during membership meetings.  Upcoming meeting dates are Thursday, May 10, 2018; and Thursday, July 12, 2018.  Meetings are held at Erin’s Pavilion at Edwin Watts Southwind Park.  Volunteers would need to arrive by 5:45 p.m. and stay until approximately 7:30 p.m.  Four volunteers are needed for each meeting.

 

Memorial Day - the Village of Williamsville is looking for volunteers to help put flags on the graves of veterans on Saturday, May 26, 2018.  They are looking for four volunteers.  Volunteers will meet with Mayor Tom Yokley at McDonald's at 8:00 a.m. and will be needed for about 3 hours.  Please see Mr. Martens if you are interested or have any other questions.
