Plato & Flora S. McCourtney Foundation
Scholarship applications are available-preference is given to students seeking a
technical or scientific education. Applicants must be in the top 10% of their
class to apply. Deadline to apply is April
15. The scholarship is renewable up to four years.
Jostens Graduation Order Delivery - Final payment must
be paid to receive cap & gown.
Credit and debit payments can be accepted at the Jostens’ office by calling
217-483-8989. The WHS Office is able to
accept cash only payments.
FREE SWING DANCE LESSONS: Before the 7th Annual Williamsville Jazz
Dinner, swing dance lessons will be offered in the WJHS Athletic Gym from
6:30-7:30pm on the following dates:

The lessons are free. All students and
parents are welcome to join in the fun!
Interested in the US Service Academies? You are invited to attend the Service
Academy Night hosted by the offices of U.S. Congressmen Darin LaHood &
Rodney Davis. Tuesday, April
24th at the Springfield Air National Guard, 183rd Wing,
3101 J. David Jones Parkway, Springfield, IL.
Doors open at 6:30pm,
program begins at 7:00pm.

WHS Cheerleading Tryouts for the 2018-2019 Season will be Friday April 20th at 6:30pm.
There will be a required practice April
17th 5-6:30pm. If
you are interested in trying out please contact Coach Manley.

The
Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Illinois (BGCCIL) in partnership with Sangamon Co. Juvenile Justice Council and
the City of Springfield, is hosting its 3rd annual
Teen Job Fair and Resource Expo for teens 16-19 years old. Job seekers
can get help filling out job applications, may receive on the spot interviews,
and have a chance to enter multiple prize drawings. The event features many
local employers and youth service organizations. The job fair will also include
free food and beverages sponsored by Chick-fil-a and Coca-Cola.

Williamsville Community Foundation —
Quarter Auctions – For anyone
needing community service hours, the Williamsville Community Foundation is
looking for volunteers to assist with their Quarter Auctions to benefit
different charities. They need help on the second Wednesday of every
month from 5:00-6:00 p.m. to set up chairs at the Williamsville Community
Center, and then they will need help on the second Thursday of every month from
5:30-8:30 p.m. to work concessions
Williamsville’s Healthy Kids’ Running
Series – Spring Series - the Williamsville’s Healthy Kids’ Running
Series is looking for volunteers. They are looking for volunteers to help
in leading stretches, directing runners along the courses, helping keep kids in
order at the finish line, etc. The races take place at the Williamsville
Park on Sunday afternoons from April 8 to May 6. Volunteers would need to
be at the park from about 3:30-5:30 p.m. They are also in need of a few volunteers to
help with the packet pickup for the series on Friday, April 6 from 4:00-6:00
p.m. and on Saturday, April 7, from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Please see Mr.
Martens if you are interested or have any other questions.
Lincoln Land Down Syndrome
Society – Child Care at Membership Meetings - Volunteers are being sought by the Lincoln Land Down Syndrome Society to
assist with child care during membership meetings. Upcoming meeting dates
are Thursday, April 12, 2018; Thursday, May 10, 2018; and Thursday, July 12,
2018. Meetings are held at Erin’s Pavilion at Edwin Watts Southwind Park. Volunteers would need to arrive by
5:45 p.m. and stay until approximately 7:30 p.m. Four volunteers are
needed for each meeting.
