Bullet Basketball senior guard, Casey Tuttle has advanced to the semifinals in the fan voting competition for the American Family Insurance 3-Point Championships. During voting in the quarterfinals, Casey once again had the largest margin of victory across all matchups. He is now one step closer to earning the final spot in the 2018 American Family Insurance 3-Point Championship and compete in the finals at the NCAA Final Four in San Antonio, TX later this Spring. In order for Casey to advance to the finals in San Antonio, we still need your help! Voting for the semifinals starts on, Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 12:00 pm CST by going to www.amfam.com/fanvote and then clicking on Boy’s 3-Point link in the upper right hand corner of the page. You will still be limited to one vote per device per calendar day for each head-to-head bracket matchup. Once the clock hits midnight, you are free to vote again for that next day. Attention Sophomore Parents: On March 14th, 2018 the Regional Office of Career and Technical Education will present the annual CONNECT Career Day event at Lincoln Land Community College. This opportunity is available to sophomores and WHS has made arrangements for our students to attend. ROCTE would also like to invite parents to attend Career Day. This is an opportunity to visit with approximately 50 local business representatives and to learn about careers in a wide range of career pathways. Our group will be attending the Keynote Speaker session from 9:15-10:05 and then move to the career exhibits in Cass Gym at 10:10am until 11:00am. Please contact the high school counseling office with any questions.
Plato & Flora S. McCourtney Foundation Scholarship applications are available-preference is given to students seeking a technical or scientific education. Applicants must be in the top 10% of their class to apply. Deadline to apply is April 15. The scholarship is renewable up to four years.
WHS Sports Booster Outstanding Sportsmanship/Teammate Award Scholarship applications are available on the Counseling Office webpage or by talking to one or your counselors. Please see eligibility requirements. One male and one female student-athlete will each be awarded a one-time $500 scholarship and a plaque. Deadline to apply is March 28, 2018. No late applications will be accepted.

Lincoln Land Down Syndrome Society – Child Care at Membership Meetings -
Volunteers are being sought by the Lincoln Land Down Syndrome Society to assist with child care during membership meetings. The last upcoming meeting date is Thursday, March 8, 2018. Meetings are held at Erin’s Pavilion at Edwin Watts Southwind Park. Volunteers would need to arrive by 5:45 p.m. and stay until approximately 7:30 p.m. Four volunteers are needed for each meeting.
Williamsville Community Foundation — Quarter Auctions – For anyone needing community service hours, the Williamsville Community Foundation is looking for volunteers to assist with their Quarter Auctions to benefit different charities. They need help on the second Wednesday of every month from 5:00-6:00 p.m. to set up chairs at the Williamsville Community Center, and then they will need help on the second Thursday of every month from 5:30-8:30 p.m. to work concessions
Williamsville’s Healthy Kids’ Running Series – Spring Series- They are looking for volunteers to help leading stretches, directing runners along the courses, helping keep kids in order at the finish line, etc. The races take place at the Williamsville Park on Sunday afternoons from April 8 to May 6. Volunteers would need to be at the park from about 3:30-5:30 p.m. Please see Mr. Martens if you are interested or have any other questions.
Williamsville Community Foundation — Easter Egg Hunt - the Williamsville Community Foundation is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 24, 2018. They are looking for volunteers to help with refreshments, to organize the kids for the egg hunt, and to pass out toys. They also need one volunteer to wear the bunny costume and walk for a bit posing with kids for pictures. The event will be held at the Williamsville Park. Volunteers will be needed from approximately noon until 2:00 p.m.. Please see Mr. Martens if you are interested or have any other questions.
