Winter Formal Tickets are $5 each and will be sold during lunch the week prior to the dance February 19th through the 22nd.  Tickets will be $20 each at the door the night of the dance.

FCCLA/FFA Winter Formal at the Williamsville High School Gym from 8-11 pm.  Tickets are $5 each and will be sold during lunch the week prior to the dance February 19th through the 22nd.  Tickets will be $20 each at the door the night of the dance.  If students are bringing dates from other schools, the Guest Approval form must be filled out and turned in prior to purchasing a ticket.  For any questions, see Mrs. Matulevich.

The Illinois Heartland Decorative Artists have established a First Place $1000 scholarship and a Second Place $500 scholarship for a graduating senior who will attend an accredited art program. IHDA will also award $250 of art supplies to the FIRST Place student's high school art department, SECOND place student's high school art department will receive $125 in art supplies. Seniors: Applications for the Orlene Drobish Moore scholarship (open only to WHS seniors) are available in the counseling office. Complete applications must be returned to the Guidance office on or before March 23rd

 

Track Polar Runs/Conditioning will meet in the cafeteria. They will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays until practices begin.

 

Attention Seniors: 30 scholarship opportunities are available through the Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln and the application process is NOW OPEN and will redb20180220 open until March 1st. Scholarship criteria and applications are available via the website www.cfll.org or by visiting the guidance department website.

 

Fight for Air Climb (service hours opportunity) Earn service hours and have fun while supporting the American Lung Association at the Springfield Fight for Air Climb on February 25th! Jostens Graduation Order Delivery will be Tuesday, March 13th during lunch.  Final payment must be paid to receive cap & gown.

Reminder to seniors: Menard Electric Scholarship Program is offering: One $1,000 scholarship to a 4-year college or university, One $500 scholarship to a 2-year community college and One $500 scholarship to an accredited technical school. One winner will be selected from among those three scholarship winners to attend the Youth to Washington Tour June 8-15, 2018. Applicants must be a high school senior and their parent/legal guardian must be a Menard Electric Cooperative member with their primary residence or business served by the cooperative. Deadline to apply is approaching March 1st 2018.

Volunteers Hours Available

Lincoln Land Down Syndrome Society – Child Care at Membership Meetings -

Volunteers are being sought by the Lincoln Land Down Syndrome Society to assist with child care during membership meetings.  The last upcoming meeting date is Thursday, March 8, 2018.  Meetings are held at Erin’s Pavilion at Edwin Watts Southwind Park.  Volunteers would need to arrive by 5:45 p.m. and stay until approximately 7:30 p.m.  Four volunteers are needed for each meeting.

 

Williamsville Community Foundation — Quarter Auctions – For anyone needing community service hours, the Williamsville Community Foundation is looking for volunteers to assist with their Quarter Auctions to benefit different charities.  They need help on the second Wednesday of every month from 5:00-6:00 p.m. to set up chairs at the Williamsville Community Center, and then they will need help on the second Thursday of every month from 5:30-8:30 p.m. to work concessions

 

Habitat for Humanity of Sangamon County — Scrapbooking Fundraiser - is looking for volunteers to help set-up and tear down for their Scrapbooking Fundraiser at the Sherman United Methodist Church.  They need help setting up on Friday, February 23, 2018, from 6:00-9:00 p.m., and tearing down on Saturday, February 24, 2018, from 8:00-11:00 p.m.  Please see Mr. Martens if you are interested or have any other questions.

 

Williamsville’s Healthy Kids’ Running Series – Spring Series- They are looking for volunteers to help leading stretches, directing runners along the courses, helping keep kids in order at the finish line, etc.  The races take place at the Williamsville Park on Sunday afternoons from April 8 to May 6.  Volunteers would need to be at the park from about 3:30-5:30 p.m.  Please see Mr. Martens if you are interested or have any other questions.
