FCCLA is collecting donations for DCFS next Tuesday and Wednesday February 13th and 14th at lunch.  They are in need of diapers, baby wipes, diaper rash ointment, baby lotion or monetary donations.  If you bring any of these items in, we will be providing a sweet treat at lunch!

Mason Fleck will represent WHS at the IHSA Boys Sectional Swim Meet to be held at Eisenhower Pool, Southeast High School in Springfield (warm ups at 11:30 a.m. and swim finals at 1:00 p.m.).  Good luck, Mason!

Track Polar Runs/Conditioning will meet in the cafeteria. They will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays until practices begin.

 

Attention Seniors: 30 scholarship opportunities are available through the Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln and the application process is NOW OPEN and will redb20180213 open until March 1st. Scholarship criteria and applications are available via the website www.cfll.org or by visiting the guidance department website.

 

Fight for Air Climb (service hours opportunity) Earn service hours and have fun while supporting the American Lung Association at the Springfield Fight for Air Climb on February 25th! Register to join the WHS team, led by Julia Kienzler (Blood, Sweat, and Stairs). To register go online or contact Julia for more details! 

 

The FCCLA/FFA Winter Formal will be held Saturday, February 24th at the Williamsville High School Gym from 8-11 pm.  Tickets are $5 each and will be sold during lunch the week prior to the dance February 19th through the 22nd.  Tickets will be $20 each at the door the night of the dance.  If students are bringing dates from other schools, the Guest Approval form must be filled out and turned in prior to purchasing a ticket.  For any questions, see Mrs. Matulevich.

Lincoln Land Down Syndrome Society – Child Care at Membership Meetings -

Volunteers are being sought by the Lincoln Land Down Syndrome Society to assist with child care during membership meetings.  Upcoming meeting date is Thursday, March 8, 2018.  Meetings are held at Erin’s Pavilion at Edwin Watts Southwind Park.  Volunteers would need to arrive by 5:45 p.m. and stay until approximately 7:30 p.m.  Four volunteers are needed for each meeting.

 

Williamsville Community Foundation — Quarter Auctions – For anyone needing community service hours, the Williamsville Community Foundation is looking for volunteers to assist with their Quarter Auctions to benefit different charities.  They need help on the second Wednesday of every month from 5:00-6:00 p.m. to set up chairs at the Williamsville Community Center, and then they will need help on the second Thursday of every month from 5:30-8:30 p.m. to work concessions during the auctions. 

Williamsville High School — Boys’ Basketball Clean-Up - For anyone needing community service hours, the custodians at Williamsville High School are looking for assistance cleaning out the bleachers after the home boys’ basketball games.  They are looking for a couple of volunteers per game, and while you will probably be needed for less than an hour, you will earn an hour of community service.  Please see Mr. Martens if you are interested or have any other questions.

After-Prom Committee — Cookie Sales at Boys’ Basketball - For anyone needing community service hours, the After-Prom Committee is looking for assistance with their cookie sales during the home boys’ basketball games.  They are looking for a couple of volunteers per game, and will be needed from 5:45-7:15 p.m. and 7:15-8:45 p.m.  Please see Mr. Martens if you are interested or have any other questions.
