For the 4th year in a row, Ashleigh Sinks is headed to the IHSA State Swim Meet! In Sectionals, Ashleigh was awarded a 1st place medal in the 100 butterfly and a 1st place medal in the 100 backstroke. Preliminary swims will take place on Friday with finals on Saturday at New Trier High School in Winnetka. Good luck at state Ashleigh!

SEMO Application Day: An admissions representative from Southeast Missouri State University will be in the WHS library on Monday Nov 27th from 3:15-5pm. The rep will be talking to seniors who wish to apply, who have applied, and who are in the process of an application. All students who register for this event will receive a final admission decision before they leave! If you would like a WHS counselor to gather your transcript, test scores, senior class schedule for the representative, please sign up in the office by Nov 22nd. *students must bring the $30 application fee and social security number. Contact Mrs. Chladny or Mrs Damery if you have questions. Don't miss this unique opportunity.

Lincoln
Land Down Syndrome Society – Child Care at Membership
Meetings -
Volunteers are being sought
by the Lincoln Land Down Syndrome Society to assist with child care during
membership meetings. Upcoming meeting dates are Thursday, January 11,
2018; and Thursday, March 8, 2018. Meetings are held at Erin’s Pavilion
at Edwin Watts Southwind Park. Volunteers would
need to arrive by 5:45 p.m. and stay until approximately 7:30 p.m. Four
volunteers are needed for each meeting.
183rd
Fighter Wing – Easter/Spring Event - For anyone needing community service hours, the Airman
and Family Readiness Program of the 183rd Fighter Wing in Springfield is
looking for volunteers to assist with their Easter/Spring Event that they are
co-hosting at Camp Lincoln. Volunteers will be needed on Saturday, March
24, 2018, from 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. helping with the children’s
activities. The event will take place at Camp Lincoln, Bldg. 10 located
at 1301 N. MacArthur Blvd. in Springfield.
Williamsville
Community Foundation — Quarter Auctions – For anyone needing community service hours, the
Williamsville Community Foundation is looking for volunteers to assist with
their Quarter Auctions to benefit different charities. They need help on
the second Wednesday of every month from 5:00-6:00 p.m. to set up chairs at the
Williamsville Community Center, and then they will need help on the second
Thursday of every month from 5:30-8:30 p.m. to work concessions during the
auctions.
Sherman
Holiday Wonderland – Volunteers are being sought to assist with the Sherman Holiday
Wonderland, which will be hosted at the Sherman Athletic Club on Sunday,
November 19, 2017. Proceeds from the Sherman Holiday Wonderland are put
toward the Sharon Miller Scholarship. Volunteers will be needed on
Sunday, November 19, 2017, helping vendors unload from 7:00-9:00 a.m. and
working the Welcome Table from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., and additional volunteers
are needed to help set up for the event. Set up will be either Saturday
evening or early Sunday morning, but that time has not yet been confirmed.
183rd
Fighter Wing – Children’s Christmas Party – the Airman and Family Readiness Program of
the 183rd Fighter Wing in Springfield is looking for volunteers to assist with
their Annual Children’s Christmas Party. Volunteers will be needed on
Sunday, December 3, 2017, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. helping with the children’s craft
tables. The location for the event has not yet been determined.
