Volunteers Hours Available


Village of Williamsville Memorial Day - For anyone needing community service hours, the Village of Williamsville is looking for volunteers to help put flags on the graves of veterans on Saturday, May 27, 2017.  They are looking for four volunteers.  Volunteers will meet with Mayor Tom Yokley at McDonalds at 8:00 a.m. and will be needed for about 2.5 hours.  Please see Mr. Martens if you are interested or have any other questions.


United Cerebral Palsy Lincoln Land Charity Championship - For anyone needing community service hours, the United Cerebral Palsy is looking for volunteers to help with the Lincoln Land Charity Championship.  The Tour is Monday, June 19 through Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Panther Creek Country Club.  The Chair of Ecology (Trash) is looking for two or three people to work three hour shifts (10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., 1:00-4:00 p.m., and 4:00-7:00 p.m.).  Shirts will be provided, and they are asking volunteers to wear khaki shorts or pants and bring gloves.  Please see Mr. Martens if you are interested or have any other questions.


Sherman Elementary School Summer Bridges - Sherman Elementary School is looking for volunteers for the summer school program, called Summer Bridges.  The program begins on July 6th and will run every Tuesday and Thursday morning until July 27th.  The subjects that will be emphasized this summer are reading and mathematics.  A classroom teacher will be the facilitator, and they are seeking high school students to work in small groups with the materials the teacher provides.  The commitment would be about three hours in the morning from 8:00-11:00 a.m.  These hours would count as community service and will be considered an NHS activity for the 2017-2018 school year.  Students can commit themselves to all 7 sessions or sign-up on a day-by-day basis.

Senior Class Trip The class trip is moving from Monday, May 22, to Tuesday, May 23. Please let Mr. Halford know if you cannot make the new date. Also, if this new date works better for you and you would like to attend, please see Mr. Halford.


Seniors Schedule for Friday, May 26

         8:00am Meet at the Elementary School for a Senior Send Off with the future Bullets

         9:00am - Graduation practice at WHS on Friday, May 26, 2017 in the WHS Gym This is mandatory for all seniors going through the ceremony

         10:00am - Breakfast will be provided by the Senior Parents immediately following the practice.

         11:00am Clean out your lockers, pay fees, fines, negative lunch balance

Williamsville & Sherman Public Libraries will be open until 9:00 p.m. on 5/23 - 5/25 to study for finals.  They will provide free coffee and snacks as well.

We will not be waiting for anyone. All students attending the trip are asked to be here by 6:20.



1. Bring sunscreen.

2. ONLY your ticket and dinner are covered. Anything you want to buy at the park, you will need money for, including lunch.

3. Do not bring anything inappropriate or illegal with you on the trip. All purses/bags will be checked before we board the bus. YOU WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE BUS AT THE PARK. YOU MUST TAKE EVERYTHING WITH YOU, SO PACK ACCORDINGLY. THE PARK DOES HAVE LOCKERS.

4. During the entire trip, absolutely no alcohol, tobacco, or drugs under any circumstances will be tolerated.

5. All music devices must have earbuds/earphones

6. Snacks are allowed on the bus, but no coolers. Everyone is responsible for cleaning up after themselves.

7. Anyone not part of the class trip is not allowed to socialize with anyone on the trip.

8. Students and parents should realize that the failure to comply with any of these guidelines could result in the student being sent home at the parents' expense on the first available means of public transportation. Also, it must be understood by the student and parents that rule violations on this trip may result in seniors not being allowed to go through the graduation ceremony.

Teachers will be in their rooms at 8:18 each day of exams if students have questions or would like to study. Students do not need to arrive until between 8:45 and 9:00 a.m. If students who ride the bus cannot arrange their own transportation, they will arrive at their regular time and report to their first exam classroom at 8:18. Once a student arrives they must stay all day on days 1 and 2.


All students may leave at 2:15 p.m., but not before, on days 1 and 2 of the exams. If transportation is a problem, students can report to the gym to be supervised by Mr. Furlow on day one and two of exams. On day three of exams, students may leave if they have 4th hour Resource or once they have completed their last exam, and the buses will run at 11:30 a.m. on this day.


Students: Please note that you must leave school grounds if you leave early on Day 3 of exams. You cannot stay in the building. You are not allowed to go to the junior high.
