Attention Seniors: ISAC Rep, Ms. Widmer, will be at WHS on Wednesday, January 11 from 3:20-4pm in Mr. Halford's room (105) for the "Comparing Award Letters" Workshop. Please bring your award letters with you to the workshop. This workshop will help seniors make financial decisions about the colleges they have applied to.
Youth & Government: All final revisions were supposed to be submitted on Google Classroom before break, but very few have been attached to the correct assignment (top one in the feed).These must be attached NO LATER THAN THURSDAY! Items due include revised LA Proposals, revised Lobbyist Position Papers, Revised Bills/Briefs, and revised newspaper Legislation Stories. Please see Ms. Faloon-Sullivan if you have questions. There’s no school Monday so join us for some fun! Unlimited bowling including shoe rental is $15. Everyone is invited. Lanes can hold 5-6 people. This event is sponsored by the Band Boosters. Forms are available in the office to reserve your lane. You can also register at the door starting at 8:30 pm as long as lanes are still available. Track: All students interested in running track, Polar Runs will begin Tuesday January 10th from 3:30-4:30. Conditioning and runs will be held every Tuesday and Thursday until track practice begins. Please meet in the cafeteria no later than 3:30pm.
Senior students are encouraged to submit their name and letter of interest to be considered for the 2017 Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln Student of the Year recognition and scholarship. Students who wish to submit a letter of interest to the guidance department should do so by January 18th. Six seniors will be selected to represent Williamsville as "students of the month". If you are chosen as a Student of the Month, you will then be able to complete an essay for the "Student of the Year" scholarship. All students of the month will be published in the State Journal Register.
Youth Day & Youth to Washington Tour: Interested students must be a high school junior, live in a home with a parent or guardian who is a member of Menard Electric Cooperative, and be able to attend events on March 29, 2017 and June 9-16, 2017 if chosen. Congratulations to the WHS Scholastic Bowl team for going 9-0 and placing 1st (out of 21 teams) at the Mattoon Turnabout Tournament! Also, congratulations to Mitch McCullar and Eli Reevis for making the all-tournament team (1st place and 8th place, respectively). Great job!
Red Out in Riverton – Tuesday, February 14 –WHS Boys Basketball @ Riverton HS The Riverton Hawks will be hosting the boys basketball game and want to fill the gym with red shirts to show support for the American Heart Association. A link to the order form is on the db20170111 page of the Williamsville website. Proceeds from the sale of the $10 red shirts and $2 bracelets will go to the AHA. Who will fill the gym with the most red shirts .. Williamsville or Riverton? Deadline for orders will be January 23.
