Community Service/Volunteer Info:

Williamsville Junior High School — BIG Time/Fire Youth Basketball Tournament - For anyone needing community service hours, the Williamsville Junior High School is looking for assistance running the clock/scoreboard for a 4th and 5th grade youth basketball tournament this weekend (January 7-8, 2017).  Games will be played in both the old and new gyms at the Williamsville Junior High School.  Please see Mr. Martens if you are interested or have any other questions.

 

 

Friday, January 6:

 

Lunch: BBQ beef rib sandwich or Cheesy garlic flatbread, buttered corn, diced pears, fresh-baked cookie, ½ pint of milk

 

Baseball Meeting:  All boys interested in playing baseball should meet in the Cafeteria after school on January 6, 2017.

 

6:00pm - Girls Varsity Basketball @ Illini Central High School- Bus leaves 4:30pm

Seniors: Senior parents and students are encouraged to sign up for important guidance announcements through the "Remind Ap". Prom Meeting- There will be a meeting for any junior wanting to help plan prom on Tuesday, January 10 at 7:45 in Mrs. Walsh's room!

 

Track:  All students interested in running track, Polar Runs will begin Tuesday January 10th from 3:30-4:30. Conditioning and runs will be held every Tuesday and Thursday until track practice begins. Please meet in the cafeteria no later than 3:30pm.

 

Attention Seniors: ISAC Rep, Ms. Widmer, will be at WHS on Wednesday, January 11 from 3:20-4pm in Mr. Halford's room (105) for the "Comparing Award Letters" Workshop. Please bring your award letters with you to the workshop. This workshop will help seniors make financial decisions about the colleges they have applied to. 

 

Senior students are encouraged to submit their name and letter of interest to be considered for the 2017 Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln Student of the Year recognition and scholarship. Students who wish to submit a letter of interest to the guidance department should do so by January 18th. Six seniors will be selected to represent Williamsville as "students of the month". If you are chosen as a Student of the Month, you will then be able to complete an essay for the "Student of the Year" scholarship. All students of the month will be published in the State Journal Register. 

 

Bowling Party @ King Pin Lanes - Sunday, January 159pm11pm

There’s no school Monday so join us for some fun! Unlimited bowling including shoe rental is $15.  Everyone is invited.  Lanes can hold 5-6 people. This event is sponsored by the Band Boosters.  Forms are available in the office to reserve your lane. You can also register at the door starting at 8:30 pm as long as lanes are still available. Only cash or checks made out to Williamsville Band Boosters will be accepted.  Pizza and snacks will be available to purchase.  Any questions?  Email cmhalford@yahoo.com.

 

Vocal Music Parents:  All interested parents are welcome to attend the Williamsville Vocal Music Boosters (WVMB) meeting on Monday, January 9th at 6:30 p.m. in the high school teachers’ lounge.  We hope to see you there!

 

Youth Day & Youth to Washington Tour: Interested students must be a high school junior, live in a home with a parent or guardian who is a member of Menard Electric Cooperative, and be able to attend events on March 29, 2017 and June 9-16, 2017 if chosen. Further information and applications are available on the guidance webpage or in the Guidance Department.
