Summer Leadership and Character Development Academy - The USMC is hosting their annual SLCDA this summer, July 17-23 in Quantico, VA.  This is not a recruiting tool, and is actually geared towards kids who have no interest in the military at all, but would still benefit from learning about how the Marine Corps trains its leaders.  This is a great opportunity for students who are looking to build leadership skills and make a positive impact in their communities; as well as improve their list of achievements and community service hours when applying to colleges and for scholarships.  Applicants must be in the summer of their Junior or Sophomore year, at least 16 years old, and have a 3.0 GPA or better.  The deadline to register is April 8, 2016.  This event is FREE!  The only responsibility of the applicant is transportation from their home to Quantico, DCA (if flying).  For more information, email questions, comments, or concerns to: SLCDA@MARINES.USMC.MIL
