7th Hour – Penny Drive Giving Continues

 

Boys Soccer- This meeting is open to any boy that is interested in playing soccer. As long as you are not currently involved in another sport, the meeting is Tuesday 12/8 after school in Mr. O'Connor's room. This is to discuss off-season workouts and open gyms.

6:00pm - Boys Varsity Wrestling @ Mt. Olive/SHG @ SHG – Van leaves 3:30pm

6:00pm - Boys Freshman Basketball @ Sacred Heart - Griffin High School – Bus leaves 4:50pm

 

6:30pm - Madrigal Beggars Night – Doors open at 6:00 - WJHS Fine Arts Center - $5 Students, $7 Adults

 

Thursday, December 10:

 

Lunch:  Spaghetti with meat sauce or Italian meatball sandwich, ranch chick peas, cranberry spinach salad, diced peaches, cinnamon grahams, ½ pint of milk

4:15pm - Scholastic Bowl at Sangamo Conference Tournament

 

6:00pm - Girls Basketball vs Pleasant Plains High School (H)

 

After Prom will be selling chances to win an Apple Watch tonight at the Girls Basketball game!  Come support the Lady Bullets and buy a square for $10.  Drawing will be held once all squares are sold.

 

6:00pm - Wrestling @ Auburn/Taylorville @ Taylorville – Van leaves 3:15pm

General Announcements:

 

Class Dues are collected every year by class sponsors in lieu of fundraisers.  Money collected is used to pay for the Junior Class Prom and the Senior Trip.  It is not collected in registration and should be paid directly to a class sponsor. 

·         Freshmen –Pay $20 dues to Mr. Beard, Mr. Martens, Mrs. Whitten, or Mrs. Beard

·         Sophomores – Pay $20 dues to Mrs. Walsh

·         Juniors – Pay $20 dues to Mrs. Sturgeon

Deadline to sign up for the ACT Review Classes is Tuesday, December 15th!  Registration forms are available in the Guidance area.

 

Congratulations to the JV Scholastic Bowl Team for winning 1st place (out of 16 teams) at the Athens JV Tournament! Both Mitch McCullar and Jared Owens were honored as part of the All-Tournament Team. Congrats!

 

WHS Track and Field Informational Meeting:  Anyone interested in competing in track and field this coming spring needs to attend an informational meeting after school in the cafeteria on Tuesday, December 15th.  

 

Mrs. Walsh is looking for volunteers to help deliver the food to Contact Ministries next Monday, December 14We will be gone first through fourth hour.  Breakfast will be provided!

 

For anyone needing community service hours, the United Cerebral Palsy organization is looking for volunteers to work their annual telethon at the Crowne Plaza in Springfield on Sunday, January 31, 2016.  Volunteers are needed from 1:00-2:00 p.m.  If anyone is interested, please see Mr. Martens.
