Class Dues are collected every year by class sponsors in lieu of fundraisers.  Money collected is used to pay for the Junior Class Prom and the Senior Trip.  It is not collected in registration and should be paid directly to a class sponsor.

·         Sophomores – Pay $20 dues to Mrs. Walsh

WHS is looking for an outstanding sophomore to represent our high school at the 2015 Hugh O'Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership Seminar.  Each year HOBY empowers 9,000 high school students to excel as leaders and innovators. 2015-2016 Yearbook - Jostens, our school's yearbook publisher, has been sending out emails this year to students and parents to purchase yearbooks for 2015-2016 school year.  These are legitimate emails, and yearbooks can be purchased by following the instructions in the email.  This is the first year Jostens is using this email system.   


Congratulations to Brenna Cordum – October Student of the Month!


Student Council is sponsoring a drive for items to give to the homeless at Kumler Outreach. Fourth Hour classes will compete to see who can fill the most bags with the list of items that were handed out to the teachers.  The winning class will be treated to a 4th Hour Feast of Kentucky Fried Chicken and all the fixings!!  The drive will run from Monday, November 16 to Monday, November 23.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Walsh or Kaylee Burton.


Tutor opening: A math tutor is needed for two 7th grade students. Tutoring would meet the students at Sherman Library, one time every couple of weeks. This is a paid tutor position. Tutors need to be a strong math student. Please contact Mrs. Chladny if interested. 


Community Service Opportunity

The Airman and Family Readiness Program of the 183rd Fighter Wing in Springfield are looking for volunteers to assist with their Annual Children’s Christmas Party.  Volunteers will be needed on Sunday, December 6, 2015, from 1:00-5:00 p.m. helping with the children’s craft tables.  The event will take place at base of the 183rd Fighter Wing at 3101 J. David Jones Parkway in Springfield.


Volleyball banquet will be on Sunday, November 29th in the high school cafeteria at 3pmPlease turn in your uniform along with the pink shirts to Coach Beard by Friday, November 20th.  Cake & punch will be served.


Juniors - Sign up in Mr. Kershaw's room to work boys’ basketball concessions.  If you work three games, you get a free prom ticket.
