After Prom – WHS – Thank you to the Priesters and the Junior Class Parents for hosting this great event!  Those attending should remember to bring tennis shoes.


General Announcements:


Kindness Contest: Any student that volunteers or provides assistance to others for a total of 5 hours between April 28 and May 11 will be entered into a drawing for one of five $20.00 gift cards. Students can pick up a form in the office for official rules and log for their time.


Summer Employment:  Coach Hodgson is looking for workers for his produce farm this summer.  Sign up in the office if you are interested.


The University of Spa & Cosmetology is inviting all interested students to attend their open house on Wednesday, June 3rd from 5-7pmThey are located at 2913 W White Oaks Drive, Springfield.  Campus tours, financial aid guidance, and program information will be available.

Congrats to the HS Girls track team on a great job on Saturday at the Jokish-Grandone Invitational in Carlinville.  The girls placed 4th overall as a team and the boys and girls combined placed 2nd overall.  


The 4 X 200, 4X400 and 4X800 relays all won their relays.  We also had several top 3 finishers in Cheyanna Michael in the Triple Jump, Abbey Galusha in the 800, Tia McCarty in the 100 and Bridget Rhodes in the High Jump.  Great job to all who participated.  


Girls on the Run of Central Illinois is excited to share a volunteer opportunity-"One in a Million" 5k event. There are several volunteer positions available. Roles include: packet pick up, face painting, Happy Hair, water stop, course marshal, and cheer team.  The event takes place Saturday, May 16th at Lincoln Land Community College.   To view a list of shifts or to sign up, please visit www.GOTRcentralillinois.org/5kevent. ACT:  The next national test date is June 13. Registration deadline is May 8. June is a great time for juniors to take the ACT. Williamsville High School is a test center. See the guidance office with questions. 


Congrats to the Boys Track and Field Team on their second place team finish at last night's Sangamo Conference Meet. We scored points in 14 of the 18 events.  The 4x100m relay team of John Karras, Hunter Thompson, Jace Franklin, and Connor Icenogle placed first.


Congratulations  to the girls track team on a 3rd place finish at the Sangamo Conference Meet last night.  Congratulations to the following top 3 finishers:

·         4x800 (Rottinghaus, Rhodes, McCain, Galusha) placed 1st and set a new school record with a time of 10:07.17

·         4x200 (Henrickson, Rottinghaus, McCain, Rhodes) placed 3rd

·         4x400 (Rhodes, Michael, McCain, Galusha) placed 2nd

·         Cheyanna Michael placed 1st in the triple jump and set a new conference record. Cheyanna also placed 2nd in the long jump.

·         Abbey Galusha placed 2nd in the 800


There were also many other PR's and ribbon winners. Great job, ladies!!

Senior Art Show Thursday May 7th, 6:00 -6:45 pm:  The Senior Art Students invite family and friends to attend the Gallery showing of their award winning art work, Thursday. 5/7/15, from 6:00 pm till 6:45 pm. The show is a collection of their best art work created through their high school career.  Please come and enjoy viewing creativity at its best! The art show will be on display from Tuesday, May 5 through Friday, May 8th.


WHS Student Art Show Fine Arts Night May 14. 6:00 pm 6:30 pm:  Family and friends are invited to view the WHS Student Art Show Thursday, May 14, from 6:00 pm – 6:30 pm. Their art will be on display from Monday May 11 through Friday May 15


Williamsville High School Concert and Jazz Bands will be presenting their final concert of the year at the WHS Fine Arts Night which will also feature the choir and senior art show. The Band portion of the night will begin at 6:30 PM in the db20150507 gym.  We are inviting members of the community to this Patriotic-themed concert where we will be recognizing current and former service members and performing some patriotic favorites and big band classics that are sure to be a hit.


Boys Golf:  Any boy who missed the golf sign up meeting last week, may still sign up by calling or texting me at 415-5907. Information sheets are in the office.
