Tuesday, November 18:

 

Lunch:  French toast sticks/syrup or Cheese/egg/sausage flatbread, sausage links, seasoned potato wedges, orange slices, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, ˝ pint of milk

 

Art club will be cancelled for Tuesday 11/18 and rescheduled for Thursday 11/20 from 3:30 - 5:00 in the art room. 

 

6:00pm – Girls Varsity Basketball vs Downs Tri-Valley (Clinton Turkey Tussle @ Clinton High School) – Bus leaves 4:15 pm

 

Band Booster Meeting: Tuesday, November 18th at 6:00 pm in the WHS band room. All band parents are encouraged to attend.

 

Band Trip Meeting: Tuesday, November 18th at 7:00 pm in the WHS band room or Wednesday, November 19

 

Wednesday, November 19:

 

Lunch:  Hot ham & cheese sandwich or BBQ shredded chicken sandwich, sliced tomato, tater tots, red pepper strips, sliced pears, ˝ pint of milk

 

Youth and Government: Butter Braids/Cookie Dough/Pizzas must be picked up after school- please make arrangements, because they have to be placed in a freezer.

 

Mandatory Baseball Meeting for anyone trying out this year:  Meet last 10 minutes of your lunch period in Coach Chladny’s room (224)

 

Band Trip Meeting:  If you did not attend the meeting on Tuesday, please join us at 7:00 pm in the WHS band room

 

Thursday, November 20:

 

Lunch:  Sliced beef & Cheddar sandwich or Maid Rite sandwich, soft pretzel, baked potato, seasoned broccoli, diced peaches, ˝ pint of milk

2:00 – Varsity Football vs. Mt. Carmel – WHS hosts the IHSA Semifinals

 

General Announcements:

 

Attention Seniors applying to SIUE: The SIUE Alumni Association is providing incoming students with several opportunities to apply for college scholarships. Applications for these 2015-2016 scholarships are available online at www.siue.edu/alumni/awards. They must be submitted or postmarked by Friday, January 30, 2015. 

 

James Chad Young Memorial Scholarship Fund: Applications available on the guidance webpage or hard copies available in the guidance office. Seniors must have at least a 3.0 and have a relative that is a member of the military.

 

Next Y&G meeting will be Monday, 11/24 at 6 p.m.

 

Congratulations to the 2014 Bullets Football Team on winning the IHSA Quarterfinal game on Saturday!  The Bullets defeated Auburn on Saturday 38-6 and advance to the Semifinal round on Saturday.  The Bullets will play Mt. Carmel at 2:00 pm.  This will be the Bullets first semifinal appearance since 1988.  Go Bullets!

 

IHSA Girls Swimming:  Congratulations to our girls swim team on a great sectional meet!  All three girls placed and scored points in each of their events, earning WHS 10th place overall out of 30 teams.  Ashleigh and Morgan made it to the medal podium on both of their swims.  Ashleigh got 1st place in the 100 butterfly and earned a trip to the state swim meet in Evanston on Friday and Saturday.  Good luck Ashleigh!

After Prom Lottery winners for the second week of November are: Steve McLaughlin, Dennis Whitley, Jennifer Coady, Tyler Wood, Jim Morgan and Heidi Milford.  The 2015 After Prom Committee would like to thank all of you who bought lottery tickets.

 

SPARC is looking for volunteers to help at The Design Ideas Holiday Outlet Store. This is an excellent volunteer opportunity. Students can work after school-7pm or on the weekends. Please stop by guidance or contact Denise Schainker at dschainker@spfldsparc.org or 793-2100 ext 145. 

 

A local farm with horses is looking for paid help-possible two positions open. Job duties would include cleaning horse stalls and weed eating in the summer. The position is on an as needed basis and more hours would come in the summer. Please stop by guidance if you are interested.
