Boys Basketball:  There will be a MANDATORY Parent-Athlete meeting on Monday November 3rd for anyone interested in trying out for boys basketball at 6:30 in the high school gym.  Please make sure at least one parent attends the meeting.  Boys Basketball tryouts begin November 10th.

Parent-Teacher Conferences: WHS is once again using Sign-Up Genius for parents to reserve Parent-Teacher Conferences with each of their student’s teachers.  Ten minute slots are available on the following days:

·                     November 6th:  12:30-3:30 PM, 4:00-8:00 PM

·                     November 7th : 8:00 – 11:00 AM

Coats Found:  Two coats were found at the Porta football field.  Please call Porta High School to claim, 217-632-3216.

 

As part of the Red Ribbon Week celebration, S.A.V.E. Club is going to have a writing contest for all students at the high school. It is really easy. All you have to do is write any type of poem on the theme for the week which is " Love Yourself, Live Drug Free." Submit the poem to Mrs. Lorton by Wednesday, November 12. S.A.V.E. Club members will pick the winning poem and all poems will be displayed in the school.  Wear red on Friday for a sweet treat!

 

The Place for Prom, Pageant, and Special Occasion M2 in Urbana, Illinois is again offering a $500 scholarship. All senior boys and girls need to do is come to M2 with student ID and fill out a simple registration form between January 2, 2015 and May 3, 2015. The drawing will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015. Congratulations to the Lady Bullets Volleyball team on their win over Warrensburg for the Regional Championship!  Sectional competition continues Tuesday, 6:30 pm vs. Warsaw @ Athens.  Bus leaves 5:00 pm.
