S.A.V.E. Club members please stop by after school Friday and pick up your fundraiser booklets. We will have a club meeting on Tuesday after school. We will do the posters and the video. Be prepared!!

Sports Boosters is in need of 4 additional people to sell 50/50 tickets at the game this Friday night.  Workers would need to report to the concession stand shortly before 6 to pick up tickets and get a gate assignment.  Tickets are sold through the beginning of the second quarter and then the tickets and money are brought to the concession stand for tallying.  If you are available to help, please call or text Debbie at 414-1330.

Lincoln Community High School's Annual College Night will be held October 16 from 6:00pm-7:30pm. This event is open to all high school students and their parents. The evening begins with a financial aid presentation followed by a college fair featuring over 35 college representatives and military recruiters. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable information in one location regarding the next step after high school.

Parent-Teacher Conferences: WHS is once again using Sign-Up Genius for parents to reserve Parent-Teacher Conferences with each of their student’s teachers.  Ten minute slots are available on the following days:

·         November 6th:  12:30-3:30 PM, 4:00-8:00 PM

·         November 7th : 8:00 – 11:00 AM

WHS is looking for an outstanding sophomore to represent our high school at the 2015 Hugh O'Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership Seminar.  Each year HOBY empowers 9,000 high school students to excel as leaders and innovators. Volunteer Opportunities –

Capitol Radio Group—Zoolie Ghoulie at Henson Robinson Zoo

For anyone needing community service hours, the Capitol Radio Group is sponsoring Zoolie Ghoulie at Henson Robinson Zoo from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18 and 25, 2014, and Sunday, October 19 and 26, 2014. If anyone is interested, please see Mr. Martens.

 

S.A.V.E. will be selling coupon books for $20.00 for their fundraiser this year. The proceeds will go toward the events we have during the year. FCCLA will be sponsoring the third annual diaper drive during 5th hour classes from October 20th through the 24th.  The class that collects the most diapers/student will win a pizza party!  This is a great cause for mothers and babies in need in our community.

 

Band Booster Meeting: Tuesday, October 21 at 6:30 pm in the WHS band room. All band parents are encouraged to attend.

Boys Basketball:  There will be a MANDATORY Parent-Athlete meeting on Monday November 3rd for anyone interested in trying out for boys basketball at 6:30 in the high school gym.  Please make sure at least one parent attends the meeting.  Boys Basketball tryouts begin November 10th.
