General Announcements:


Volunteer Opportunities Available - Williamsville Fall Festival are looking for volunteers to man the watering station for the Williamsville Fall Festival 5K on Saturday, September 6, 2014.  Volunteers will need to report to the watering station at 7:30 a.m. and will be needed until 9:00 a.m.   They are also hoping to find someone who would be willing to sing the National Anthem a cappella before the race starts.  If anyone is interested, please see Mr. Martens.  If anyone is interested, please see Mr. Martens.


For anyone needing community service hours, Sports Care is sponsoring the Women’s Biathlon on Sunday, September 21, 2014.  Sports Care is looking for students who will help with the parking for the event, monitoring the course, working at the drink stations, and a variety of other functions.  Volunteers will need to report for a volunteer meeting starting at 7:00 a.m. on the morning of the event inside   Memorial Sport Care inside Kerasotes YMCA at 4550 W. Iles Ave. in Springfield, and they will need to bring the completed Volunteer Consent Form with you on the morning of the event.  Please see Mr. Martens if you are interested or have any other questions.


WILLIAMSVILLE FALL FESTIVAL "Kids zone" are looking for Volunteers to help run games and crafts from 9am to 5pm this Saturday the 6th. If you know of any students that  need  community service hours please let them know about this. Attention Juniors: Sign up to take the PSAT in the guidance office. The cost is $15. The test will be given at WHS on October 15th. Limited tests available so register early. Deadline to sign up is September 22nd. See Mrs. Chladny with questions.


The Williamsville Vocal Music Boosters will meet Monday, September 8th at 6:30 p.m. in the high school teachers’ lounge.  All choral parents are welcome to attend.


Acorn Equality Fund: is a grassroots organization that provides academic scholarships for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender (GLBT) persons and their children in Illinois’ downstate counties. 2015 scholarships range from $1,000 to $5,000.
