Also, anyone who is interested in participating in the Village Board meeting on April 28 at 6:30 p.m., please reply to her Edmodo message.

 

Love Your Self(ie): An event to help boost self-esteem for high school age girls on April 18 from 6pm-8pm on the University of Springfield campus. There will be snacks, activities, and group discussion. Hosted by master level counseling students from UIS. Girls can sign up by texting Megan (counseling intern at WHS) at 618-322-4603. Boys Basketball:  There is a meeting for all boys interested in trying out for basketball next year on Wednesday April 9th in the BACK GYM during the last 10 minutes of EACH lunch period.

 

Senior NHS Members:  remember to get your Service Form (see on the online form) filled out and submitted to Mr. Martens with dues of $10 by Friday, April 11, 2014.

 

Applications for the Sangamon County Department of Community Resources Scholarship for Low-Income Students are available on the guidance webpage. Applications are also available online at http://www.co.sangamon.il.us/Departments/resource.asp. Please see the guidance department if you have questions.

WHS Sports Boosters Outstanding Sportsmanship Scholarship is now open to senior athletes, cheerleaders, and student managers. Applicants must have a letter of recommendation from his or her coach. One award will be given to senior male athlete and one senior girl athlete worth $500. Award is not based on athletic ability. Applications are in the guidance office and must be submitted by April 11th.

 

Are you a high school senior with an interest in a career in agriculture? If so, stop by the guidance office to learn more about the John Deere TECH program at Lake Land College. This two-year program will prepare students for a career in diesel engines, powertrains, and hydraulics. Scholarship assistance is available to qualified students.

 

The Tie Dyes are here!   Art Club will start selling tie dye T shirts Friday during lunch. $10 each. Buy early before they are all gone.

 

The Williamsville Vocal Music Boosters will meet Monday, April 7th at 6:30 p.m. in the high school teachers’ lounge. All choral parents are welcome to attend.

 

Midwest Technical Institute $1,000 Need Based Scholarship is available for seniors who qualify. Please stop by the guidance office or call to schedule a tour at any MTI location to pick up an application.

National Award !!!

Amber Robbs won a Silver Key at the National Scholastic Art Awards.  25,000 Gold Key award winners from across the country and juried in New York, NY.  Only 500 works accepted for the National Awards, Three hundred are awarded a National Silver Key and two hundred are awarded National Gold Keys.
