Girls Track:  Great job at the intra-squad fundraiser track meet last night. Practice today 3:30-5. Meet in cafeteria at 3:30.  If you want to buy spirit wear please bring forms and money today.

Also, anyone who is interested in participating in the Village Board meeting on April 28 at 6:30 p.m., please reply to her Edmodo message.

 

Love Your Self(ie): An event to help boost self-esteem for high school age girls on April 18 from 6pm-8pm on the University of Springfield campus. There will be snacks, activities, and group discussion. Hosted by master level counseling students from UIS. Girls can sign up by texting Megan (counseling intern at WHS) at 618-322-4603. Congratulations to Anna Kluemke – March Student of the Month!

 

Congratulations to the girls who participated in the indoor state track meet at Illinois Wesleyan on Friday night. Amber Robbs placed 7th in pole vault and set a new PR jumping 9'9". The 4x400m relay of Abbey Galusha, Caitlin McCain, Tia McCarty and Rachel Rhodes placed 3rd and took 9 seconds off of their PR. Rachel Rhodes placed 3rd in high jump and 5th in the 400. Tia McCarty placed 9th in the 200. Great job girls! Practice today 3:30-5. Fundraiser meet on Tuesday.

 

Congratulations to the following boys who medaled at the Illinois Top Times Class A Indoor Track and Field Championship on Friday at IWU: Morgan Flynn placed third in the 400m dash (51.88), Nick Cox took fifth in the shot put (48' 5.25"), and Mitch Owens placed 8th in the 800m run (2:03.51).

Boys Basketball:  There is a meeting for all boys interested in trying out for basketball next year on Wednesday April 9th in the BACK GYM during the last 10 minutes of EACH lunch period.

 

Applications for the Sangamon County Department of Community Resources Scholarship for Low-Income Students are available on the guidance webpage. Applications are also available online at http://www.co.sangamon.il.us/Departments/resource.asp. Please see the guidance department if you have questions.

Are you a high school senior with an interest in a career in agriculture? If so, stop by the guidance office to learn more about the John Deere TECH program at Lake Land College. This two-year program will prepare students for a career in diesel engines, powertrains, and hydraulics. Scholarship assistance is available to qualified students.

The Tie Dyes are here!   Art Club will start selling tie dye T shirts Friday during lunch. $10 each. Buy early before they are all gone.

 

The Williamsville Vocal Music Boosters will meet Monday, April 7th at 6:30 p.m. in the high school teachers’ lounge. All choral parents are welcome to attend.

National Award !!!

Amber Robbs won a Silver Key at the National Scholastic Art Awards.  25,000 Gold Key award winners from across the country and juried in New York, NY.  Only 500 works accepted for the National Awards, Three hundred are awarded a National Silver Key and two hundred are awarded National Gold Keys.
