IL Sheriffs Association is will award 105 scholarships to permanent residents of Illinois. Applicants will write an essay on prevention of school violence. Print an application at http://www.ilsheriff.org/index.php/scholarships/63 The deadline is March 15th.

 

ACT Prep Workshops at Lincoln Land Community College: The Spring semester schedule is available and registration is open with classes beginning in March and May. Cost is $125 and includes textbook and handouts. The schedule for fall classes is also available. To register, contact Registration Services at 217-786-2292.

 

Lincoln Land Community College Youth Enrichment Program is looking for volunteers for their College For Kids programs. Several different volunteer positions are available. Congratulations to Rachel Rhodes and Marty Pesch on being named to the 2013-2014 IHSA All Academic Team!  Every IHSA member school was invited to nominate one female student and one male student by the February deadline. Nominees needed to possess a minimum 3.50 grade point average on 4.0 scale after their 7th semester, have participated in at least two IHSA sponsored sports or activities during each of the last two years and demonstrated outstanding citizenship.  13 male and 13 female students were selected from a pool of 450 applicants.

New Berlin Art Fair March 15-18 Students wanting to enter their art work, must have it turned in to their art teacher by March 5.  Exhibition Hours: Saturday, March 15, 10am-2pm;Sunday, 12pm - 4pm and Monday, 9am-2pm

 

Kathryn G. Hansen Scholarship 2014-15 applications are available in the guidance office or by visiting the guidance office scholarship webpage. This scholarship is open to seniors planning to pursue a higher education in an office professional, secretarial, or business-related field within the State of Illinois with preference given to attendance at the University of Illinois. Volunteer Opportunity - Sherman United Methodist Church — Kids 5k or 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk - For anyone needing community service hours, the Sherman United Methodist Church is sponsoring a Kids 5k or 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk on Friday, April 25, 2014, at the Sherman Elementary School track. The SUMC is looking for volunteers to service the water tables, hand out medals, take times, paint faces, lead games, etc. Volunteers will be needed from approximately 3:30-5:30 p.m. Please see Mr. Martens if you are interested or have any other questions.
