Student Council is having a t-shirt drive competition among 1st hour classes this week! The winning class will receive a breakfast party complete with breakfast pizza, doughnuts, and juice/milk!!
Congratulations to the students whose artwork was selected to represent WHS at the UIS High School Art Exhibition. Their work will be on display from November 18 - December 5. This exhibition will be held as a showcase of area high school art work. Artwork will be judged by category and prizes will be given for Best in Show, Best in Category, and Honorable Mention. Categories are determined by class year therefore creating four categories. UIS Visual Art Faculty and the members of the Student Art League will decide awards. Awards presentation and reception will be held, December 5, 6pm, in the Access Gallery

Junior parents by now your student should have brought home the poinsettia order form to help us continue our fund raising efforts for after prom. Completed order forms can be emailed to Pam or Lucinda prior to December 1 or returned to one of the class officers. Poinsettias are available for pick up on Saturday December 7 at Illini Bank Community Center from 9-12. No ability to sell, buy a few for yourself. At $10 they’re a steal! Track Meeting: There will be a meeting next Tuesday, Nov. 26 for any boy or girl interested in high school track. The meeting will be held in the cafeteria from 3:25-3:40.
Washington Tornado Relief Efforts: In an effort to help the town of Washington recover from the effects of the tornado that struck on November 17, the Williamsville High School Student Council will be collecting money during lunch through Friday, November 22. All funds collected will be donated to the American Red Cross and used in the recovery/clean-up efforts. Donation centers have also been set up at the village hall in Williamsville and Williamsville State Bank in Williamsville and Sherman. Any items are appreciated, but tarps, flashlights, bottled water, blankets, and coats are the items currently needed the most.

The Capitol Chapter of the Illinois Society of Professional
Engineers is offering scholarships to seniors who at least have a 3.0 GPA,
ACT score of 29 in Math, and 25 in English. Applicants must be accepted into an
engineering program at an accredited school. Find the application at http://www.illinoisengineer.
Students wishing to make a schedule change for second semester can begin signing up for appointments. Sign-up sheets are posted on Mrs. Chladny's door. Appointments will take place December 9-11.
Robert Morris University is opening $15,000 renewable scholarships to WHS students who are interested in nursing. To be considered, applicants must have a 2.5 or higher GPA, ACT composite score of 21 or higher, an ACT math score of 21 or higher, and a grade of C or higher in advanced algebra courses, biology, and chemistry. All application materials must be submitted by February 1st. See guidance for more details.
