Juniors:

Sign up for the PSAT in the Guidance Office. The PSAT will be October
16 from 8am to 11:30am at WHS. The cost is $15. The PSAT gives you feedback
about critical academic skills, prepares you for the SAT, helps you get ready
for college level coursework, and can enter you in scholarship competition.

All Juniors are reminded they need to pay
their class dues of $20.00 by October 1, 2013.
Please pay your dues to Mr. Martens, Ms. Faloon-Sullivan,
Mr. Kershaw, or Mrs. Whitten.
Seniors: Jostens will be back on Tuesday, August 27,
during both lunch shifts to collect graduation orders. Just bring a $60 deposit and your order form.

Bicycle Rodeo - For anyone needing
community service hours, Safe Routes to Schools is organizing a Bike Rodeo for
this fall. A bike rodeo is a bike safety course during which children ride
their own bikes to learn bicycle safety. The bike rodeo will take place on
Saturday, September 14, 2013. The event is scheduled for 3:00-6:00 p.m.
Volunteers will need to arrive an hour early for a training session and will
need to read through the Youth Instructor Manual and watch some safety videos.
Due to the nature of this event, volunteers need to commit to the entire time
of the Bike Rodeo. If anyone is interested, please see Mr. Martens.
Indian Summer Festival at Lincoln Memorial Gardens - For anyone needing community service
hours, Lincoln Memorial Gardens is having their Indian Summer Festival on
Saturday, October 12, 2013, and Sunday, October 13, 2013. Volunteers will most
likely be helping in the Children’s Area working with the crafts and games, and
shifts are 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days. If
anyone is interested, please see Mr. Martens.
Williamsville Fall Festival 5K - For anyone needing community service hours, the organizers of the
Williamsville Fall Festival are looking for volunteers to man the watering
station for the Williamsville Fall Festival 5K on Saturday, September 7, 2013.
Volunteers will need to report to the watering station at 7:30 a.m. and will be
needed until 9:00 a.m. If anyone is interested, please see Mr. Martens.
All FCA leaders need to meet in Ms. Rollet's room at 7:30 on Thursday morning, August 29th for a meeting to discuss the upcoming year.
Lunch Money – The collection box is in
the gym before 1st hour begins and then in the office once classes
start. Lunch money is due before 4th
hour begins.
Nelson Resource Center Fall ACT Review Classes begin September 2-October 21, meeting on Monday evenings from 6-8pm. Please see the Guidance Office for more details.
