Prom tickets will be on sale this week Monday -Thursday. The cost is $20 per person

1:00 pm FAFSA for Seniors: if you would like help filling out your FAFSA, we will have someone from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission coming at 1pm. You will also need to bring a copy of your parent's tax return and your social security number, the day of the class.

 

A representative from the U.S. Marine Corps will be here at 10:45am to discuss ROTC scholarship opportunities for seniors.

 

Friday, May 3:

Junior NHS Members - Service Forms with all the required documentation need to be turned into Mr. Martens no later than Friday, May 3, 2013. Also at the time you turn in the Service Form, you need to pay your $10 membership dues.

Sports Booster News: The next Sports Booster meeting will be held on Sunday May 5th at 5:30 pm at the Sherman Village Hall.

 

General Announcements:


 

Senior Graduation Orders: If you have not yet picked up your cap & gown order, you may do so in the office. If there is a balance due, there are a couple of options. Orders may be paid for in cash or money order. If you prefer to pay by credit or debit, please call 217-483-8989 and Jostens will process your payment over the phone. Checks will not be accepted. Extra announcements are also available for purchase. $1.20 per announcement or 5 for $6.

 

Attention Jr/Sr Guys: If you were planning on attending prom but are coming up short on funds for a tux, please see Mrs. Chladny. Assistance is available, but limited.

 

Prom Information:

         There will not be a photographer at promenade this year to take pictures.

         Prom tickets will be on sale this week Monday -Thursday. The cost is $20 per person. Class dues must be paid up to date in order for anyone to get their ticket.

         No prom tickets will be sold at the door.

 

2013 Cabaret Night: The Williamsville High School Vocal Music Department cordially invites you to the 2013 Cabaret Night featuring the Vocal Jazz Ensemble and members of the WHS Jazz Band. Come join us Saturday, May 11th for an evening of music and entertainment as we transform the WHS cafeteria into a night club complete with an all you can eat Dessert Buffet! Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students can be purchased from any student member or at the door. Doors open at 6:45pm with the show beginning at 7pm.

Varsity Volleyball Players please stop by Ms. Simmons's room to pick up a Pleasant Plains Volleyball League form.

 

Congratulations to the Girls Track team on a great job at the Conference Meet on Tuesday night. The girls team took 3rd overall and had several place in the top 6. Congratulations girls!!

         The 4x800m relay (Meagan Hanney, Kayla Nevill, Abby Bergfeld and
Abbey Galusha) was 3rd

         The 4x200m relay (Abbey Galusha, Caitlin McCain, Regan Stump and Tia
McCarty) was 1st

         The 4x400m relay (Tia McCarty, Caitlin McCain, Regan Stump and Rachel
Rhodes) was 1st

         Tia McCarty broke the school and conference record in the 100

         Rachel Rhodes broke the school record and conference by winning the High Jump. Rachel also broke the conference record in the 400 m dash.

         Meagan Hanney was 4th in the 800 m dash

         Amber Robbs was 6th in the 100m hurdles and tied for 2nd in the pole vault

         Sophia Pensebene was 4th in pole vault

         Jade Coady was 5th in shot and discus

         Jordan French was 2nd in discus and 7th in shot

Sangamon County Meet is Friday at Pawnee. Athletes are out at 2:20 and bus leaves at 2:30.

 

Attention Seniors attending SIU-Edwardsville: Sigma Phi Epsilon are offering the Balanced Man Scholarship to a student attending SIUE. The scholarship is worth $1000.00. There is no obligation to join SigEp to be eligible. Applications are in the guidance office and are due June 1, 2013.

 

Seniors: Please turn in your graduation contracts ASAP to Mr. Galusha in the office. Seniors are also encouraged to attend Baccalaureate on May 19th at 2:00 pm at the Williamsville Christian Church, please sign up in the office.

 

 

Please Note: New After-Prom Activity Offered

Due to circumstances beyond the control of the after-prom committee, laser tag will no longer be an offered activity. Instead, jousting has been added. If you would not like your child to participate in this activity, please contact either Julie Stoecker at 341-3416 or Amy Capranica at 415-7514. To help inform your decision, a description of the activity is listed below:

American Gladiators here we come! For this gladiator joust event, two willing participants position themselves on separate raised platforms above an inflatable mattress. The goal is to knock their opponent off of the pedestal using a padded pugal stick. Balance is the secret agent in winning this immensely watched event. The after-prom committee apologizes for any inconvenience.
