Wednesday, May 1:


Lunch:  Roasted chicken or Teriyaki chicken, sweet cornbread, creamy coleslaw, sweet baked beans, applesauce, ½ pint of milk


Prom tickets will be on sale this week Monday -Thursday. The cost is $20 per person


After prom forms and money can be turned in to Mrs. Walsh or Sammy Benner.  Forms will be taken through today and the cost is $15 per person.


Art Club will be held on Wed. this week


Student of the Year Interviews held in the District Office


Seniors:  All outstanding registration and fees are due no later than today, May 1st.


4:30pm - Varsity Baseball @ Pleasant Plains High School – Bus leaves at 3:00, dismiss 2:50

4:30pm - Junior Varsity Baseball vs Chatham-Glenwood High School

4:30pm - Varsity Softball @ Pleasant Plains High School– Bus leaves at 3:00, dismiss 2:50

4:30pm - Girls Varsity Soccer vs. Southeast High School ( +JV) – Seniors will be recognized immediately after the varsity game.


Varsity Volleyball Players please stop by Ms. Simmons's room to pick up a Pleasant Plains Volleyball League form.


Thursday, May 2:

Seniors: if you would like help filling out your FAFSA, we will have someone from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission coming at 1pm. You will need to sign up in the Guidance office by Tuesday, so that we know how many computers we will need. You will also need to bring a copy of your parent's tax return and your social security number, the day of the class.


A representative from the U.S. Marine Corps will be here at 10:45am to discuss ROTC scholarship opportunities for seniors.


Friday, May 3:


Lunch: Cheese twist pizza or Pepperoni pizza, buttered corn, sweetened strawberries, chocolate grahams, ½ pint of milk

Junior NHS Members - Service Forms with all the required documentation need to be turned into Mr. Martens no later than Friday, May 3, 2013. Also at the time you turn in the Service Form, you need to pay your $10 membership dues.


4:00pm - Track & Field at Sangamon County Meet @ Pawnee – Bus leaves 2:30, dismiss at 2:20

4:30pm - Junior Varsity Baseball vs Illini Central High School

Saturday, May 4:


10:00am - HS Boys Varsity Baseball vs Southeast High School (DH).


3:00pm – Doors open for Promenade


4:30 pm – Promenade Begins


8:00-11:00 pm - WHS prom

Sports Booster News: The next Sports Booster meeting will be held on Sunday May 5th at 5:30 pm at the Sherman Village Hall.


General Announcements:


Seniors:  A representative from the U.S. Marine Corps will be here Thursday, May 2 at 10:45am to discuss ROTC scholarship opportunities.  Sign-up in the Guidance Office by the end of the day Wednesday if you’d like to attend.


Senior Graduation Orders:  If you have not yet picked up your cap & gown order, you may do so in the office.  If there is a balance due, there are a couple of options.  Orders may be paid for in cash or money order.  If you prefer to pay by credit or debit, please call 217-483-8989 and Jostens will process your payment over the phone.  Checks will not be accepted.  Extra announcements are also available for purchase.  $1.20 per announcement or 5 for $6.


Sports Booster News: The next Sports Booster meeting will be held on Sunday May 5th at 5:30 pm at the Sherman Village Hall. Too many "sports" conflicts during the week has made it necessary for us to have the meeting on a Sunday! We will be voting for officers so it will be important to attend if you are able to vote. We would love to have everyone come sign up for committees and get involved. Come see what the Boosters are planning and how you can be a part of it!


Attention Jr/Sr Guys:  If you were planning on attending prom but are coming up short on funds for a tux, please see Mrs. Chladny. Assistance is available, but limited.


Prom Information:

·         There will not be a photographer at promenade this year to take pictures.  

·         Prom tickets will be on sale this week Monday -Thursday. The cost is $20 per person. Class dues must be paid up to date in order for anyone to get their ticket.

·         No prom tickets will be sold at the door.

2013 Cabaret Night:  The Williamsville High School Vocal Music Department cordially invites you to the 2013 Cabaret Night featuring the Vocal Jazz Ensemble and members of the WHS Jazz Band.  Come join us Saturday, May 11th for an evening of music and entertainment as we transform the WHS cafeteria into a night club complete with an all you can eat Dessert Buffet!  Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students can be purchased from any student member or at the door.  Doors open at 6:45pm with the show beginning at 7pm.


Congratulations to the boys track and field team on their second place finish at the Sangamo Conference Meet last night here in Williamsville. Eleven schools competed in the meet. Morgan Flynn (400m dash), Connor White (shot put), and Mitch Owens (800m run) led the way with first place finishes in their events.


Congratulations to the teachers who won for only the 3rd time ever at Monday night's annual Scholastic Bowl Faculty-Team Grudge match, beating varsity 480 to 445. Thanks to everyone who gave up a lovely evening outdoors to play -- it was a lot of fun.
