WHS Special Event License Plates: It's not too late to order your license plate to benefit After Prom! Orders can be taken until January 25th. A sample of the plate is in the high school office. WHS Special Event License Plates.pdf

 

Boys & Girls Track: The parent-athlete meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 30 at 6:30pm in the cafeteria.

 

WHS boys' track and field practice begins Monday, Feb. 4th. A current physical and other signed forms are due in the office by then.

 

Girls Soccer: Parent-athlete meeting on February 11 at 6:00pm in the cafeteria

 

Congratulations to the following student musicians who will be participating in All-State music ensembles in Peoria this week: Jacob Hardy, Rebecca Williamson, Mary Walden, Dana Caspar, Hannah Levin, Tanner Smith, Abby Deutsch! They will join others from around the state and perform together this Saturday!

 

The WHS Jazz Band will be traveling to Peoria this Friday to perform at the Illinois Music Education Conference. They are one of five bands from around the state to receive this honor. Congratulations!

 

Congratulations to the Lady Bullets basketball team for winning the Sangamon County Basketball Tournament over Riverton Saturday!

Explore Academic Excellence Day for all Nursing Programs at SIUE is scheduled for February 16 from 8am-12pm. Any prospective nursing students should attend. Please stop by the guidance office for a flyer.

New Scholarships:

         Lincoln Land Community College Foundation Scholarship applications are available. The online application is available by going to www.llccfoundation.org click on scholarships. Deadline to apply is April 10th. Students will be considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible. The application can also be used to apply to the LLCC Honors Program and for consideration for the LLCC Trustees Honors Program Scholarship. Applications are also available in the guidance office.

         Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln scholarships available. Twenty-one different scholarships are currently available by going to www.CFLL.org Deadline to apply is March 1. Stop by guidance for more details.

         CWLP & the Illinois Municipal Utilities Association (IMUA) is offering a scholarship opportunity to eligible high school seniors. Applicants must be the child of residential customers of CWLP or another IMUA-member utility. Deadline to apply is Friday, March 8, 2013. Four winners will be selected.
