scholarship opportunities: The 2013 Buick Achievers Scholarship Program is now open to high
school seniors who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an
accredited four-year college or university for the entire 2013-14 academic
year. Plan to major in a course of study that focuses on STEM (Science,
Technology, Engineering, or Math). Select Design, Marketing, Accounting,
Finance and Business majors are also eligible. Recipients will demonstrate an
interest in pursuing a career in the automotive or related industries using
these areas of study. Amount: 1,000 renewable $2,000 scholarships
and 100 renewable $25,000 scholarships. The
application period opens on January 9th and closes at 5:00 p.m. EST, February

Scholastic Art Awards 2013: Tuesday Jan. 8th is the deadline for entry forms and fees for the adjudication of 2013 Scholastic Art Awards. Teachers will be notified of the results by January 15. The Awards Day will be held on January 27, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Angela Hall on the campus of Benedictine University at Springfield. The exhibition will be on display at the Springfield Art Association January 27 through February 22 during business hours 9:00 am - 5:00pm Monday through Friday and 10:00 - 3:00 Saturday.
Girls Track: There is a sign up sheet in the office for any girl interested in participating in the 2013 Bullets Track Team. There will be an informational meeting next Tuesday (January 15) in Coach Rigney's room after school. There is a tentative parent's meeting scheduled for Wednesday, January 30 at 6:30pm.
FCCLA & FFA: There will be a FCCLA & FFA dance meeting after school Wednesday, January 16th, in Ms. Simmons' room.
