All S.A.V.E. members there will be a meeting before school Wednesday. Remember to bring your baked goods. Mrs. Lorton is looking for a couple of people to stay after school to make posters.

 

S.A.V.E. will be having a bake sale on Wednesday during both lunch shifts so bring some extra cash for dessert.

 

After Prom Take Over Night! WHS is "taking over" Buffalo Wild Wings on Wednesday, November 21 from 5:00-9:00pm. Come to the Dirksen Parkway location and help raise money for your After Prom! Just present the fundraising ticket and we'll get 15% of your pre-taxed food sales! Come and join the fun! Scholarship Applications available in guidance

Polly W Roesch Vocal Music Scholarship: Four year renewable scholarship of $1,500 a year. Must be a Sangamon County resident and apply by March 1st.

 

Davey Scholarship Loan Foundation: Scholarship loans available for residents in Christian, Morgan, & Sangamon Counties who are between the ages of 16-25. These are need based loans with an interest rate of 5%. Deadline to apply is June 15.

 

Skelton Scholarship: Must be a high school graduate & resident of Sangamon County. Qualifications are based principally on economic hardship, academic achievement will also be considered. The one time scholarships range from $500-$2,000. High school students submit applications through the guidance counselor. Applications are due on or before March 1st.

Mackenzie McCall has been chosen as the 2012-2013 Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Winner! Harrison Galusha has been chosen as the 2012-2013 Sons of the American Revolution Good Citizen Winner! Both students were chosen by WHS faculty members based on the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, & patriotism to an outstanding degree. Mackenzie & Harrison will be honored at banquets in the spring and will have the opportunity to win a scholarship.

 

Christmas Break ACT Prep classes being given by: "Better Test Scores" The average ACT improvement is four points! Students can pick up flyers or get the website and phone number in the Guidance Office.
