Lunch:  Breaded chicken sandwich or Spicy chicken sandwich, chipotle sweet potato fries, fresh fruit, animal crackers, ½ pint of milk


Jostens will be here during both lunch hours for class ring questions & sizing issues.  Remember to bring your ring with you!


If you are interested in helping with the bookfair, bring your lunch during either lunch shift to the library and work with us on planning for the upcoming bookfair.

General Announcements:


Congratulations to the FFA Agronomy Team on their 3rd place finish!!!  Team members included Lauren Burris, Brianna Parada, Dalton Trader, & Caleb Wittler.  Lauren Burris won 1st place Individual.  The contest consisted of seed, weed, & insect judging.  Way to go team!


After Prom Take Over Night! WHS is "taking over" Buffalo Wild Wings on Wednesday, November 21 from 5:00-9:00pm. Come to the Dirksen Parkway location and help raise money for your After Prom! Just present the fundraising ticket and we'll get 15% of your pre-taxed food sales! Do you want to be a College Student-Athlete? If so, plan to attend the NCAA Initial Eligibility program tonight, November 15, from 6:30-7:30pm at Southeast High School Auditorium. Any high school student-athlete and their parents who has an interest in competing in Division I or II college athletics should attend. The event is sponsored in conjunction with Illinois State University. Please see Mrs. Chladny or contact Mr. Roseboom at 525-3130 at Southeast High School for more details.


Class Rings:  Jostens left the class rings in the office that were ordered and not yet picked up.  You may either call Jostens at 217-483-8989 to pay the balance by credit or debit card or stop by the office with a cash payment.

Youth and Government Reminders: Please turn in Butter Braid money as soon as possible. Also, we will have a meeting on Sunday, Nov. 18 from 1-2 p.m. to prepare for Pre-Leg II. Finally, Fannie May candy will be delivered on Monday, Nov. 19.


Juniors:  Free Prom tickets!!  Volunteer to work concessions for boys’ basketball!  Three games worked will get you one free prom ticket and 6 games worked will get you 2 free prom tickets!!  Sign-up in Mr. Kershaw’s room.


Calling all runners – Anyone interested in being a part of the WHS Running Club there will be a meeting at the track right after school on Monday, November 19th.  Please see Halston Fletcher if you have any questions!

Scholarship Applications available in guidance

Polly W Roesch Vocal Music Scholarship: Four year renewable scholarship of $1,500 a year. Must be a Sangamon County resident and apply by March 1st.


Davey Scholarship Loan Foundation: Scholarship loans available for residents in Christian, Morgan, & Sangamon Counties who are between the ages of 16-25. These are need based loans with an interest rate of 5%. Deadline to apply is June 15.


Skelton Scholarship: Must be a high school graduate & resident of Sangamon County. Qualifications are based principally on economic hardship, academic achievement will also be considered. The one time scholarships range from $500-$2,000. High school students submit applications through the guidance counselor. Applications are due on or before March 1st.
