Friday, May 18:

 

Lunch: Cheeseburger macaroni or Italian meatball sandwich, strawberry spinach salad, mandarin oranges, cinnamon grahams, ½ pint of milk

 

Cabaret Night, featuring the WHS Vocal Jazz, will be held Friday, May 18 at 7:30pm in the WHS Cafeteria.  Tickets are only $5 and available at the door.   Come enjoy delicious desserts and great music! 

 

Youth and Government information session for any student in grades 10-12 in 2012-2013 who is interested in joining on Friday outside the cafeteria during the last 15 minutes of both lunch shifts

 

Friday is the last to purchase a copy of the Senior Video from Mrs. Walsh!

General Announcements:

 

Summer work available –

 

·         US Marble & Granite is looking for someone with a strong back and good driving record to work in their shop and make tile deliveries, full time hours available this summer.  Contact Jay Oshesky, 241-2700.

·         Detasseling – Anyone interested in making $8.50 or more detasseling corn in the month of July, please sign up in the office.  Please call Mr. Trine at 415-5907 if you have any questions.

·         Produce Farm - Sign-up in the office if you’d like to work on a produce farm this summer with Ted Hodgson.

·         A family in Sherman is looking for a high school mentor to spend time with a 6th grade boy this summer from 12-5pm Monday-Friday. This will be a paid position, stop by to see Mrs. Damery for more details.

 

Cheerleading Information:

·         Tryout Parent Meeting: Tuesday May 22nd at 6pm in the HS Library

·         Tryout Clinic Dates: May 29-May 31st 5:30-8 pm at the HS Gym

·         Tryouts: Saturday June 2nd at 9am at the HS Gym

Seniors –

·         Turn in graduation contracts ASAP!

·         Reserve your copy of the senior video with Mrs. Walsh - $10

·         Sign up for baccalaureate in the office if you wish to participate

·         Graduation practice – Thursday, May 24, 9:00 AM.  Senior parents are providing breakfast afterwards at the Williamsville Park for all seniors.  A class picture will be taken and each graduate will receive an 8x10 at graduation.  There will also be a tree dedication in memory of Kyle Knox.  Hope to see everyone there!

 

Madrigal Auditions will be May 21 & 22.  Please see Mrs. Bosworth to sign up for an audition time.

 

Choir Trip Important Dates:  Choir Trip Parent Meeting will be held Thursday, May 24 at 6pm in WHS Choir Room.  Every student planning to go on the trip needs to attend along with at least one parent/guardian.  Please contact Mrs. Bosworth if you have a conflict.  Choir Trip Rehearsal will be June 12 at 3pm in the WHS Choir Room. 

 

School Supplies – As you clean out your locker at the end of the year, please donate any leftover school supplies that could be used by students in need.  There will be boxes available in the hallway to collect paper, binders, folders, etc.

 

Volleyball Players:  All Varsity volleyball players who will be playing in the Plains league need to pick up the schedule and officiating information in the office.  Coach Carlson moved Team Camp to the week of June 5-7th.  Freshmen from 8-10 and Sophomores-Seniors from 10-12.

Looking for something to do on Saturday? Animal Control will be hosting its Open House and Adoption Event on May 19 from 10:30 am-2:00 pm at the Animal Control. Take a tour, meet with adoptable dogs and enjoy food and beverages. All adoption fees have been reduced. Stop by the guidance office for more details.

 

Congratulations to the HS Girls Track Team on a great season and a job well done at the State Track Meet. The relay teams wound up being 11th and 12th. Rachel Rhodes qualified in the high jump on Saturday - Good luck Rachel!

 

Seniors going on their senior trip – Bus will load on Monday at 7:30 AM, leaving at 8:00 AM sharp!  All school rules apply, snacks and movies can be brought on the bus, food (other than dinner) and souvenirs throughout the day are at your own expense, bags subject to search.

 

Good luck to the Boys Track and Field Team as they will be competing in the Lewistown IHSA Sectional Track and Field Meet today.  Congratulations to Paul Priester who qualified for the IHSA State Track meet by winning the sectional pole vault last night at Tremont by going 14' 0"!
