Monday, May 14:

 

Lunch:  Cheese pizza or Sausage pizza, broccoli salad, corn, pears, chocolate brownie cookie, ½ pt of milk

 

Nominations for Junior Class Officers for the class of 2014 are being taken in the office.  The deadline for signing up is end of day Monday, May 14.  Voting will take place on Wednesday, May 16 in English.  Please be aware that if you are elected president, your parents will be in charge of planning after prom.  See Mrs. Walsh if you have any questions.

 

Boys Track: Honor Roll meet participants: Bus leaves at 4:30PM.  The meet begins at 5:30PM at Chatham HS.  Sectional track participants will have a short practice till 4:20PM today. 

 

5:30 PM – SJ-R Honor Roll Track & Field Meet @ Chatham-Glenwood High School – Bus leaves 4:30 PM - Congratulations and good luck to all who qualified!

 

Girls Soccer – Please remember to turn in your banquet forms to the office today!

 

Tuesday, May 15:

Girls Soccer Sectional – WHS vs. Peoria Christian 6:00 PM – Bus leaves 2:45, please dismiss at 2:35

 

Softball at Riverton Regionals – 4:30 PM – Bus leaves 3:20, Dismiss 3:10

 

Football Players:  There will be a short meeting for next year's seniors on Tuesday in Coach Kunz's room at 7:45 AM.  On Thursday at 7:45 there will be a meeting for all football players at 7:45.  Don't be late.  If you can't make the meeting that you are supposed to attend, see Coach Kunz before the meeting.

 

6th hour - Please dismiss Vocal Jazz students for their performance at the JH.

 

7th hour - Please dismiss Choir students for the JH performance.

 

Wednesday, May 16:

Lunch: Cheeseburger macaroni or Italian meatball sandwich, strawberry spinach salad, mandarin oranges, cinnamon grahams, ½ pint of milk

 

Cabaret Night, featuring the WHS Vocal Jazz, will be held Friday, May 18 at 7:30pm in the WHS Cafeteria.  Tickets are only $5/each and include delicious desserts and great music!  Get your tickets in advance from any WHS Vocal Jazz student or call 566-3361.

Summer work available –

·         US Marble & Granite is looking for someone with a strong back and good driving record to work in their shop and make tile deliveries, full time hours available this summer.  Contact Jay Oshesky, 241-2700.

·         Detasseling – Anyone interested in making $8.50 or more detasseling corn in the month of July, please sign up in the office.  Please call Mr. Trine at 415-5907 if you have any questions.

·         Produce Farm - Sign-up in the office if you’d like to work on a produce farm this summer with Ted Hodgson.

 

Cheerleading Information:

·         Tryout Parent Meeting: Tuesday May 22nd at 6pm in the HS Library

·         Tryout Clinic Dates: May 29-May 31st 5:30-8 pm at the HS Gym

·         Tryouts: Saturday June 2nd at 9am at the HS Gym

The last Williamsville Vocal Music Boosters meeting for this school year will be held Monday, May 14, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school teachers' workroom. Hope you can join us!

 

Congratulations to the Lady Bullets Soccer Team on winning the Regional Championship Friday night against Macomb!  Good luck Tuesday at Sectional!

 

Congratulations to the WHS Girls Track Team on an excellent job well done at Sectionals held at Tremont on Friday night.  Overall, the team placed 7th and had several PR's as well as some girls that made it to the State Track Meet.

 

·         Congratulations to Rachel Rhodes who has qualified for the State Meet in 4 events:  4 X 200m relay, 4 X 400m relay, high jump and the 400. 

·         Congratulations also to Paige Peterman, Caitllin McCain, Regan Stump, Rachel Rhodes and alternate Taylor Kovacevich who will be going to state in the 4 X 200m relay and the 4 X 400m relay.  The 4 X 200m relay also beat their own school record by nearly 1/2 second.

·         Congratulations to the following girls who ended their seasons by earning their season best:  Amber Robbs in the 100m Hurdles, Jordyn Danosky and Taylor Kovacevich in the 100m Dash, Sandra Brzezicha in the 1600m run and Melaney Brown in the Discus.


This week's schedule:  State Journal Honor Roll meet tonight (bus leaves at 4:30), Practice Tuesday and Wednesday 3:30-4:30.

 

Pick up your cap & gown in the office – Devlin Hanners, Dominic Yannone, and Travis Penman.

 

Seniors –

·         Turn in graduation contracts ASAP!

·         Reserve your copy of the senior video with Mrs. Walsh - $10

·         Sign up for baccalaureate in the office if you wish to participate

·         Graduation practice – Thursday, May 24, 9:00 AM.  Senior parents are providing breakfast afterwards at the Williamsville Park for all seniors.  A class picture will be taken and each graduate will receive a complimentary 8x10.  There will also be a tree dedication in memory of Kyle Knox.  Hope to see everyone there!

 

Madrigal Auditions will be May 21 & 22.  Please see Mrs. Bosworth to sign up for an audition time.

 

Choir Trip Important Dates:  Choir Trip Parent Meeting will be held Thursday, May 24 at 6pm in WHS Choir Room.  Every student planning to go on the trip needs to attend along with at least one parent/guardian.  Please contact Mrs. Bosworth if you have a conflict.  Choir Trip Rehearsal will be June 12 at 3pm in the WHS Choir Room. 

 

Paul Mitchell Cosmetology School is offering (5) $2,000 scholarships to (5) students per year per high school. If you are an interested student please come to the Guidance Office. This offer is valid within the timeframe of one year from the prospective applicant's high school graduation date.
