National Honor Society Members - Remember there is a mandatory meeting at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 17th. All active members must attend. We will be planning for the induction ceremony.


Boys optional track practice: 11:30 to 12:30.


Mandatory meeting for all guys going out for baseball: Friday right after school at 11:30 in the cafeteria.

Masonic Scholastic Bowl Sectionals at Auburn H.S. The van will leave at 7:00 a.m. Check-in is between 7:15 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. Opening ceremony is at 8:15 am with the start of play immediately following.


6:00pm - Sports Boosters Dinner & Dance - Prime rib/chicken dinner. Sherman AC club, Imagine That will be playing.

Robert Morris University is holding a Scholarship Contest March 10th @ 10AM. Students participating in the Design Contest will compete for the Best Photo, Best Logo, or Best Video. Winners will receive $3,000 in tuition at Robert Morris University. See Mrs. Damery for more details or call 217-793-2500 to register.

The American Cancer Society is hosting its 10th annual summer research program, which seeks students who are interested in scientific research, specifically cancer research. This program designed for current juniors who demonstrate strong ability in math and science, have a GPA of 3.0, and an outstanding attendance record. Applications must be completed by March 14th. See Mrs. Damery to apply.

Open Gym Monday 3:30-5:15.

Official Practice begins Tuesday 3:30-5:30

If you missed the parent meeting please get forms from the office and bring them to practice on Tuesday. Physical, Insurance Form, Fee - $80, Drug Testing Form, Concussion Policy Form


The State Journal-Register will host an informational meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the SJ-R building in downtown Springfield for any high school student wanting to learn more about joining The Voice, its award-winning journalism program. Interested teens should RSVP their name, grade and school to voice@sj-r.com by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21. Applications will be available at the meeting or students may find them online at www.sj-r.com/voice.


Boys track practice officially begins on Tuesday, Feb. 21. To be able to practice, athletes must have turned in signed forms for parent/athlete contract, IHSA form, and concussion form. Also a current physical must be on file in the office to practice. Those who do not take care of this ASAP will not be participating in track this year.


There will be an after prom meeting Sunday Feb 26th at the Sherman Village Hall at 6:00. Everyone is encouraged to attend. Prom is only 3 months away and lots of volunteers will be needed to help make this a safe and fun experience. Any questions call Lori Long 494-0850. Angie Dees at 836-8985.
