General Announcements:

 

There will be open gyms for baseball Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 6-7:30am. This is for all guys who are not playing basketball.

 

Job Opportunity: A Springfield lawn care company (Weed Man) is hosting open interviews on Jan 16th (MLK day) for students 16yrs and older. Client Service Representative and Household Estimator positions are open. These positions have evening and Saturday hours, paying $10 an hour. If you would like more information, see Mrs. Damery.

 

Seniors: New Scholarship Opportunities are now available online and in the guidance office. Ask Mrs. Damery for an application or download one from the guidance website.

  • The Kathryn G Hansen Scholarship for students interested in business, secretarial, or office professional education
  • The IL Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans for descendants of a male service member.
  • First MidAmerica Credit Union scholarships for students holding a MidAmerica account in good standing.
  • The Scottish Rite (Valley of Springfield, AASR) has seven scholarships open to all students.

Sophomores: All sophomores are invited to attend a Career Day the morning of March 6th at LLCC. This is a great opportunity for students to meet representatives from 50 career fields, gain information about interviewing skills, & learn tips on successfully applying for jobs. If you are interested in attending, please sign up in the guidance office by January 23rd. (No exceptions)

 

Congratulations to both the JV and Varsity Scholastic Bowl squads for their decisive victories last night against New Berlin and Tri-City high schools. Great job!
