Anyone attending the FCA shopping for Inner City Mission should meet at the Head West Sub Shop off of Dirksen at 6:00 p.m. this Sunday night. We will return back to WHS at 8:30 that evening. If you are driving or riding with someone, Mr.Ibbotson needs your permission slip before you are allowed to go.

 

General Announcements:

 

The Penny Drive will be held every day this week in 6th hour.  All proceeds will be donated to Contact Ministries to benefit needy families in the area during the holidays.  The winning class will receive a pizza party!

 

Got a Minute to Win It?? Sign up in the library or during lunch to participate in the Food Drive Assembly on December 9.  Each chance to play costs $1.

 

For anyone needing community service hours, the Mini O’Beirne Crisis Nursery is looking for volunteers age 14 and up to help children shop for their family, friends, and pets at their Holiday Store, which is located at the corner of Isles and Koke Mill behind Family Video.  The store opened on November 26, 2011, and will redb20111208 open Tuesday-Sunday until December 23, 2011.  Volunteers are needed for the following shifts:

 

            Tuesday-Friday – 3:45-6:45 p.m. and 6:00-8:30 p.m.

            Saturday – 9:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.; 12:30-3:30 p.m.; and 2:45-5:45 p.m.

            Sunday – 11:45 a.m.-2:45 p.m. and 2:30-5:15 p.m.

For anyone needing community service hours, the Sports Boosters are looking for volunteers to sell 50/50 raffle tickets for the Friday night boys’ basketball games on January 6, January 20, and February 3, 2012.  Volunteers will be needed from 6:00-7:30 p.m.  If anyone is interested, please see Mr. Martens.

Congratulations to the FFA Parliamentary Procedure team who placed 4th last night at Mt. Pulaski. The Williamsville FFA Officer team (Jen-Luc Abeln, Cassy Abeln, Austin Sloan, Elaine Warnisher, Evan  Weyant, and Alec Morgan) did a great job participating in the mock meeting.  Jen-Luc Abeln received 2nd place overall Chairman and Cassy Abeln placed 2nd overall as Secretary.

 

Seniors:  The Illinois Retired Teachers Association Foundation is accepting applicants who will be accepted into a teacher certification program and who have a 3.0 GPA. $1,500 will be awarded each year. See Mrs. Damery for an application

Students who do not have an Early Bird class do not need to arrive on day one of exams (Monday, December 19, 2011) until between 9:30 and 9:45 a.m.  If students who ride the bus cannot arrange their own transportation, they will arrive at their regular time and report to a supervised study period in either the cafeteria or the library to be supervised by Mr. Galusha.

 

Students will have a resource period 5th Hour throughout the three-day exam schedule to be supervised by your 5th Hour teacher.

 

All students may leave at 2:15 p.m., but not before, on each day of the exams.  If transportation is a problem, students can report to the gym to be supervised by Mr. Galusha on day one and two of exams (Monday, December 19, 2011, and Tuesday, December 20, 2011).  On day three of exams (Wednesday, December 21, 2011), students may leave if they have 1st hour Resource or once they have completed their last exam, and the buses will run at 2:15 p.m. on this day.
