Buy your candy canes with a personalized message for someone special from the SAVE Club. We will be selling them December 5-9 during lunch shifts. The candy canes will be delivered Tuesday of exams week during 5th hour resource.


Monday, December 5:


Lunch:  Cheese pizza or Pepperoni pizza, buttered corn, pineapple chunks, holiday sugar cookie, ½ pint of milk


Y&G will have a bake sale during both lunch shifts today.

Lunch:  Spaghetti with meat sauce or Italian meatball sandwich, garlic wheat breadstick, lettuce salad, diced apricots, ½ pint of milk

Lunch:  Toasted cheese sandwich or Taco quesadillas, chicken fajita soup, fresh fruit, cheddar Goldfish, ½ pint of milk

General Announcements:


The Penny Drive will be held every day this week in 6th hour.  All proceeds will be donated to Contact Ministries to benefit needy families in the area during the holidays.  The winning class will receive a pizza party.


Got a Minute to Win It?? Sign up in the library or during lunch to participate in the Food Drive Assembly on December 9.  Each chance to play costs $1.


Congratulations to Youth and Government students on a terrific Pre-Leg I! Sam Pensabene will be moving on to run for Youth Governor in Springfield, and Paul Priester will be running for Speaker of the House! Also, we had several bills receive priority consideration. Special thanks to all the parents who made the lunch a success!


For anyone needing community service hours, the Mini O’Beirne Crisis Nursery is looking for volunteers age 14 and up to help children shop for their family, friends, and pets at their Holiday Store, which is located at the corner of Isles and Koke Mill behind Family Video.  The store opened on November 26, 2011, and will redb20111205 open Tuesday-Sunday until December 23, 2011.  Volunteers are needed for the following shifts:


            Tuesday-Friday – 3:45-6:45 p.m. and 6:00-8:30 p.m.

            Saturday – 9:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.; 12:30-3:30 p.m.; and 2:45-5:45 p.m.

            Sunday – 11:45 a.m.-2:45 p.m. and 2:30-5:15 p.m.

For anyone needing community service hours, the Sports Boosters are looking for volunteers to sell 50/50 raffle tickets for the Friday night boys’ basketball games on January 6, January 20, and February 3, 2012.  Volunteers will be needed from 6:00-7:30 p.m.  If anyone is interested, please see Mr. Martens.
