Youth and Government:  Meeting for all members Sunday, Nov. 20 at 2:00 p.m. Fannie May candy will be here next week- there was a delay in processing. Please get Butter Braid money turned in ASAP.


Help your library, help yourself, and you might win a Nook tablet for your efforts! Barnes & Noble Bookfair from 1-4 p.m. Up to 20% of your purchases, including purchases in the café.  You must mention Williamsville High School or give the voucher number 10552818 for the library to get credit.


General Announcements:


WHS Choir Students are selling cheesecakes.  Please see a choir student to order.  Proceeds will help support the WHS vocal music program as well as help with the costs of our June 2012 trip to Disney World.  Orders will be taken through Monday, Nov. 28.  Delivery is Dec. 8.


Volleyball Banquet – Monday, November 21 – 6:00 PM – WHS Cafeteria – Pick up information in the office.  Please remember to bring clean uniforms, warm-ups, etc in a bag with your name on it.  If you are unable to attend the banquet, you can drop off your uniform bag in the office on Monday.  Any questions, please email carlson@wcusd15.org.

Attention Seniors: Do you plan to become a teacher? If so, please see the Guidance Department about an opportunity to be nominated for the Golden Apple Scholars Program. This includes scholarship money, paid summer internships, mentoring, Golden Apple summer institutes, and job placement assistance. Nominations have been extended through Friday, November 18th. Students can self-nominate. 


Seniors – If you still need to order a cap & gown for graduation, please do so now before prices go up!  Call Jostens directly at 217-483-8989.


Sophomores – If you haven’t picked up your class ring, Jostens left them in the office.  Full payment must be made to receive your ring.


For anyone needing community service hours, the Sherman United Methodist Church is sponsoring “One Night in Bethlehem” on Saturday, December 17, 2011, from 5:00-8:00 p.m.  They are looking for volunteers to dress up as residents of Bethlehem to help participants through the town.  They might also be assisting with crafts for kids or keeping the peace as Roman soldiers.  Volunteers would be needed from 4:00-8:30 p.m.


Attention Football Players:  We will turn in all gear on Tuesday November 22 after school in the Practice Gym.  Make sure you have everything on that Tuesday.  Make sure that all uniforms are clean!  Those of you that do not bring your gear on Tuesday will stay with Coach Kunz after school on Wednesday to get everything out and put your gear away. There will also be a short meeting for all Football Players that are in the class of 2013 that are not currently in a winter sport after all gear is turned in on Tuesday.


The Guidance Webpage has several new scholarships posted. Several of these award opportunities are restricted to Sangamon County students. Don't miss your chance to apply!


The Commonwealth Honors Academy is accepting applications for Junior students with a 3.5 GPA.   This program is run through Murray State University in June. Applicants will receive some tuition-free college credit and a housing waiver for four years. Please see Mrs. Damery if you are interested.
