WHS Choir Students are selling cheesecakes.  Please see a choir student to order.  Proceeds will help support the WHS vocal music program as well as help with the costs of our June 2012 trip to Disney World.  Orders will be taken through Monday, Nov. 28.  Delivery is Dec. 8.

2011 UIS High School Art Exhibition - Congratulations to Robert Konzelmann for winning Best of Show, at the 2011 UIS High School Art Exhibition. This exhibition is a showcase of area high school artwork and will be on display at the UIS Access Gallery through November 18, 2011. Also, congratulations to Dan Heidorn,  Russell Konzelmann, Amber Robbs, Brianna Skeels, Sephra Urbas, Tiffany Ushman whose art was selected for the show.

Attention Seniors: Do you plan to become a teacher? If so, please see the Guidance Department about an opportunity to be nominated for the Golden Apple Scholars Program. This includes scholarship money, paid summer internships, mentoring, Golden Apple summer institutes, and job placement assistance. Nominations have been extended through Friday, November 18th. Students can self-nominate.

Information is available in guidance for any student interested in studying Diesel Powered Equipment Technology at Illinois Central College in the Peoria area.

 

For anyone needing community service hours, the Sherman United Methodist Church is sponsoring “One Night in Bethlehem” on Saturday, December 17, 2011, from 5:00-8:00 p.m.  They are looking for volunteers to dress up as residents of Bethlehem to help participants through the town.  They might also be assisting with crafts for kids or keeping the peace as Roman soldiers.  Volunteers would be needed from 4:00-8:30 p.m.

 

The Williamsville Agronomy team (Jen-Luc Abeln, Lauren Burris, Rachael Pine, and Brianna Parada) placed 2nd as a team out of 10 schools. Jen-Luc Abeln was the 1st place individual (repeating last year's win), Lauren Burris 6th place, and Rachael Pine 9th place. Awesome job team! thanks to all of the FFA members who helped setup and work the contest.
