Student Council is sponsoring a Shoe Drive. Please bring any gently worn shoes to your first hour class. The class who has the highest average of pairs of shoes per student will win breakfast in class. Please see the fliers in your classes for more details.


Thursday, November 3:


Lunch: Loose tacos or Crispitos, tortilla chips, corn & pepper salsa, sliced peaches, cinnamon churro, pint of milk


Cross Country awards will be on Thursday, November 3rd at Sam's Too at 5:30 PM.


WHS Choir Concert at 7pm in the WJHS Fine Arts Gym - Come enjoy some wonderful music and delicious cheesecake!


Friday, November 4:


Lunch: Chili cheese wrap or Teriyaki chicken, wheat dinner roll, lettuce salad, fruit yogurt parfait , pint of milk


Seniors Jostens will be back to collect graduation orders on Friday during lunch. Please bring the completed form and deposit money.

Varsity Football Playoffs at Camp Point Central 2:00 PM Bus leaves 9:40 AM


Football Fans: Help send off the football team by lining the streets of Williamsville from the parking lot to the highway and cheer the team with lots of spirit as the bus leaves for Camp Point! Go Bullets!


IMEA District Festival at WIU in Macomb -- Bus leaves at 6am from behind the JH. Senior High Band & Chorus Concert is at 4:30 pm in Western Hall. Admission is $3/adult and $2/student.

General Announcements:


Win the chance to taste test and choose a new WHS school lunch item! Just fill out the word scramble sheet Sweet Potato Scramble in the school library. The sheets will be there all of this week. Ten WHS students will be drawn from all the sheets that are correctly completed. These students will then be invited to participate in a taste test at the end of their lunch period on Monday, November 7


The Elite Conference is seeking area students who are interested in secondary education. This conference is held November 28th in Bloomington.


The National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine is accepting nominations from students interested in the medical field for their summer program.


The Varsity Lady Bullets ended a phenomenal volleyball season with a record of 28-5 after a lost against QND in the first round of Sectionals. Congratulations and best of luck to Laura, Abby, Frances, Kate, Anna, and Emma!!!

SportsCare Open House - November 12, 9:00 AM 4:00 PM You are invited to tour the new facilities and meet with SportsCare staff. The new location is on the corner of Iles and Archer Elevator Road inside the YMCA.


Reminder to Sophomores: Join the premier youth leadership organization in the country-HOBY Leadership Seminar. Interested students should have a desire to represent WHS, have participation in community service activities, & outstanding oral and/or written communication skills. To learn more about the HOBY experience visit www.hoby.org or stop by the guidance office. You must notify the guidance office if you would like to be nominated. Remember deadline to request a nomination is November 21st.


The UIS Visual Arts Program will host the 2011 UIS High School Art Exhibition in the Access Gallery from November 3 -17, 2011. A reception will take place in the Visual and Performing Arts Building Access Gallery from 5:30 - 7:00 pm on Thursday , November 10, 2011. Congratulations to these students for being selected to display their art in the show: Dan Heidorn, Robert Konzelmann, Russell Konzelmann, Amber Robbs, Brianna Skeels, Sephra Urbas, Tiffany Ushman


Congratulations to the FFA Food Science team! They placed 4th out of 10 teams in the Food Science contest at Lincoln. Two of our team members placed in the top 10: Brianna Parada - 6th place individual and Catherine Wittler - 10th place individual. Other team members were Alec Morgan, Evan Weyant, Logan Brennan, Lauren Burris, Caleb Wittler, and Kayle Gibson.
